Things that annoy me (29 Viewers)

The proposed budget bill is estimated by the non-partisans as adding approximately $2.5 trillion in national debt. This from the folks who ran on cutting government spending. The total DOGE savings that came at a lot of chaos are estimated as less than $100 billion and likely not really close to that. All of that will be wiped away many times over. There are some good things in the budget but we are in a death spiral on the spending. About 80% of the budget is defense or social programs and interest on the existing debt. None of that is touchable to any politician who wants to get reelected. So there will never be an end to the debt spending until the financial system collapses.

Just nuts; had to turn it back on too, temp inside the condo yesterday morning was 61 degrees, enough is enough, it's monsooning out today, 3+ inches of rain expected, more for the weekend, then more next weekend.

Crazy record breaking flooding on the North Coast of New South Wales recently, Six months worth of rain in only Two days has resulted in Four deaths. One of my relations on a farm in that area is still missing, I hope they find him safe and sound.

 
All the people on the East Coast who are heading to the beach this holiday weekend are going to have fun with the high temps in the 50s.

I totally forgot it was Memorial Day weekend, feels like Christmas, not the beginning of the Summer, the Cape will be packed with people dressed like they are going to explore the North Pole, it's always 10 degrees cooler on the Cape than in Boston, just crazy.

This must be that global warming I've been hearing all about, won't be spending big money on electricity for my AC in May, that's for sure, one month down, three to go.

Sadly the NSW Police recently discovered the body of my cousin on his highlands cattle property, the Fifth victim of these extensive floods.
 
Not a huge fan of Billy Joel's music but I always associate him with the era that I grew up in. Sorry to hear about his cancer diagnosis. Many of those pop culture icons from the 70s and 80s are already gone. It's hard to accept that the 80s are now four decades in the past. There are kids graduating from college this year whose parents were not even born when I went to college. Amazing.

Thank you gentlemen, I appreciate your condolences. Technically he was married to one of my cousins, but always considered him a blood relation. I stayed at their large (10,000 acres) mountainous cattle property several times when I was single. He impressed me as a very capable land owner, always busy maintaining his property even in his 80's. Sadly and mysteriously, he died in a fire in his farm shed, police are still investigating.
