Things that annoy me (1 Viewer)

The Lakers have played three games so far this season. LeBron has missed all three with an injury. Enter Luka. He plays two games before he gets injured and sits out game three. I can remember some NBA players back in the day playing all 82 games with no injuries.

The news cycle is so bizarre that when the President announces that some private individual has written a $130 million check to pay the military during the shutdown, it hardly gets a mention. I'm sure there are a thousand different reasons this can't happen, but it is just another sign of how strange things have got.
The military, my son is active duty army, has always been paid during previous shutdowns. Now it's in doubt. Why?

It's the same in college. Kentucky's starting point guard was out from an injury in a scrimmage game no less and missed the game against number one Purdue. It seems every team has key players out with injuries. I don't remember season ending injures to players when I was in college over a generation ago.

I watched the movie "Weapons" yesterday.........it got rave reviews, someone needs to tell me why.

If you haven't seen it yet but plan to, spoilers ahead.

It was half horror movie, half dark comedy, not to mention, what was the point of turning the kids into weapons by the Aunt? No clue what the purpose was unless I missed it.

She sure got hers in the end, that's for sure.

For me, mediocre at best.

Call me a Homer for Pittsburgh but this gambling scandal has made me an even further cynic after last night's second half officiating. Watch the first 2 series of the second half and tell me the NFL refs are not on some sort of take. It changed the course of that game in my humble opinion.

I had the same reaction. I think she was using the kids as a source of energy to stay alive since she had cancer. "Deadstream" on Netflix is a fun horror/comedy. It even makes the Gen Z obsession with social media fun.

Watched "It; welcome to Derry" or whatever it's called tonight...................meh, a flying killer baby?

Too goofy for my taste.

And I liked those two goofball kids too....................

Did you see the shutter series "Motel Hell" or whatever it was called; it was about a hotel where a gruesome double murder took place, it shut down for years, then reopened and a group of people go for the reopening, some sort of weirdo fan club of the murders I guess.................one by one they get picked off in unique ways, the killer could be one of several people...............the ending was beyond bizarre.

Just wondering if you gave it a watch and what you thought of it; the ending was too out there for my taste, seems like every horror movie now has some sort of "message/follow the bread crumbs" ending.

"Sacramento has cooked up another ingredient for entrepreneurial misery: a law that will make California the first state in the nation to require restaurants to list major food allergens on their menus.

The new law requires restaurants to indicate on their menu whether each dish contains any of nine major allergens — milk, eggs, fish, shellfish, tree nuts, peanuts, wheat, soy or sesame." This is for restaurant chains with 20 or more locations. This is just stupid and another example of "nanny care." How did we ever survive without these dire warnings?

I have always said the weather in California is not worth the headache caused by living there. Why people put up with it there is beyond me.

Tom:

I think about this every time I go to our house in California.

Then, in the middle of the summer I go grocery shopping in Texas and I almost die of heat stroke walking to my car.

I can take the heat, what I can't take is the absolutely non sensical government decisions. Awful, give me the heat anyday.

Can't stand the heat either; have said it a million times, too hot to sit outside and socialize is no fun, the weather has been perfect here the past two weeks, mid to high 50's, cool enough where you need a hoodie or a light jacket, still ok to hang at night and have a few adult beverages.

Have a friend who hates the cold weather and keeps claiming he and his wife are moving south to the Carolinas...............best of luck with that.
