Things that annoy me (7 Viewers)

I love you to...lol...and respect your opinion...but I can throw in names like Good...Martinez...Pretti...goes both ways...things have to be done by the book...can't understand why they can't bend to the same rules our local police do...I don't think that's too much...lots of Republican congressmen feel the same way...
I hear your point but ypu cant put those 3 in the same category or sentence as innocent victims of illegal immigrant murder. It is becoming a large problem and the victims are true innocents. They didn't commit stupid acts that win them stupid and tragic prizes. It only really cuts one way. Too many murders and other violent crimes being committed by illegal immigrants, it is no longer headlines but actual growing statistics.

Regarding congress vote, there is no reason not to vote on the resolution that tables ice funding to a later date, quit holding the other agencies hostage. Plain dumb. There is an avenue on the table to do that and it needs to taken fast. Imo, politically it wold be the democrats smartest move especially with upcoming midterms.

"Imo, politically it would be the democrats smartest move especially with upcoming midterms."

Hmm.................there are two words in that sentence that should never be used together.

;).

Did they get the tip from Pelosi and husband, haven't they been accused of this for years????
No...this just happened 1-2 days ago...did you listen to the link?

the story is that someone sold off large amounts of oil futures and also purchased large amounts of S&P Futures...

15 minutes before Trump announced on Truth Social that he was halting planned strikes on Iranian oil power plants...

he won both ways...the Daily Double...

nothing to do with Pelosi...

I just read some articles on Pelosi...and yes her husband was alleged of insider trading...

but there was no legal proof or conviction of any wrong doing...

anybody can be alleged...

George...

Both Democrats and many REPUBLICANS are voting no...

they mostly want no masks...body cameras...special name tags with the officers last name...and a special badge with an ID number...

just like every policeman in the USA have...

those are the big issues...I don't think that is too much to ask...not such a big demand...

some minor issues also...no entering private property without a warrant...no entering schools...churches and medical facilities...no racial profiling...do you think that's really too much to ask?

it won't pass because of that...doesn't seem like much of an issue to me...I find that mind boggling...the polls agree with me...
No racial profiling? You have got to be kidding? Who do you think most illegals are blond, blue eyed Swedes? So they have name tags, special badges, no face mask etc. Like if an agent truly did something wrong they won't be able to identify him. Body cams for the most part prove that the officers were right. It completely boggles my mind how any one can be supported of people entering this country illegally and have no consequences.

Well okay...your prerogative...your dad was a policeman...like it or not...he probably followed the same rules...having warrants have been around for a long time...part of jurisprudence...
All you need to effect an arrest is probable cause. You do not need a warrant. After the arrest is when you apply for a warrant.

Sorry sometimes humor doesn't come through on a keyboard, I was only making a joke as unfortunately I think in her case there is a lot of fire, BUT really you can apply it to all of them.

As I have said time and time again, there, unfortunately, are not a lot of "great" people in Congress. They do some good things, but to me, this position of serving your Country has really become a career of enriching themselves and frankly, most of them are in that category. Look, the easiest way to dissect all of these wunderkinds is to find their "balance sheet and income statement" prior to being elected, then compare it to the same docs as of today. It is an eye opening experience in nearly all cases. Just look at Pelosi to Ocasio to Mcconnel to Paul to literally all of them.

I have said this before, but will say again, just ask yourself this common question as a former business owner........... Why would you literally go broke to win an election for an office of service? Answer and I am tongue and cheek here - to win the pot of gold.

I know I always sound like a cynic, but I honestly truly believe this is what happens no matter how good their intentions are. I also think you have some real bad apples across the board like Omar, Talib and on the other side you have idiots like Chip Roy and Matt Goetz.

Take Trump out of the equation regardless of what you think of him. The real crud is in Congress IMO. Presidents come and go and at the end of the day, they are there for various reasons, IMO - Trump - Ego, Obama - Entitlement, Clinton - Crooked & Ill gotten Gains, Bush - Entitlement, etc etc etc. End of day, the real "criminal activity" is happening in Congress. Again, my opinion , but I could argue there is a lot of smoke and facts that back it up. You could also apply this to a good number of Governors.

Regarding ICE and Masks. Look, I certainly understand the point of view regarding the image point. That said, until they stop , I think the word is "doxing" these agents for political purposes, I understand the desire to be anonymous. I think everyone would agree it is a thankless job at this point. That said, again, I would like to think the mask is not necessary in a civilized society for all points of view on this "argument".

Another point, again, call me a cynic, but I really want to know how many Ice agents are ill-trained. I understand the recruitment issue, but my understanding (and I could be wrong) is that the core agents that make up Ice in leadership and field leadership positions were originally from other law enforcement agencies at all levels. I bring this point up b/c I do not trust our "free press", I just don't. Another case of that is, if you watch the national news, you would be led to believe that EVERY airport in America is at a standstill b/c of TSA funding, however, being in Texas this week and watching KXAN and KVUE in Austin, they are very distinct in showing Houston Area Airports (there are 2 of them) as chokepoints and Austin and Dallas (Again, 2 of them) as not.

I really have stopped watching National News on all channels because I feel they are literally on par with the National Enquirer. Local news, when they actually do their own stories (Not network packages) seems to get it right most of the time without bias. I am not going to name the network, but as some of you know, my son, is an on air reporter in local news (they have network affiliation, it is a large local channel) and he told me that they actually fact check the national network syndication packages they receive before they air them. That, to me, is a pretty good indicator of what is going on folks.

Body cam footage is a draw as far as I can tell.

It has exonerated an infinite number of officers who were falsely accused of misconduct.

It has also generated countless convictions (and massive civil jury verdicts) against officers who lied and committed crimes under the color of authority.

Maryland legislature, which has all of one Republican, pushing a bill to put Tampons in men's restrooms in state owned bldgs. Sorry Tom.

In a nutshell, now you know what crazy lives in that State. Same thing as wasting taxpayer dollars trying to help a accused felon on national news and thinking it was a good idea. State is lunacy at its finest.

Tom....I'm sorry...I get it now...a few hours after I replied...I kept thinking...your post made no sense...

and after re-reading it...I actually did realize it was humor...and was going to edit my response but the "edit button" had disappeared...

but yes...being privy to the "inner circle"...does allow some opportunities to profit and both side of the parties are guilty of cashing in on it..

I'm not trying to be one of those people that "boggle your mind"...

I have never supported people entering this country illegally...not ever...you can look back at several of my posts where I have clearly stated this…

but your comment..........”No racial profiling? You have got to be kidding?”..........smacks of racism...something I don’t condone...you sound more than a tad jaded…

racial profiling is widely considered a form of racism and discrimination...as it involves law enforcement or other authorities using race, ethnicity, or national origin...rather than individual behavior...to suspect someone of a crime...it disproportionately targets minority groups like African Americans, Latinos and Muslims...leading to systemic inequality...

I'm not down with that...

All you need to effect an arrest is probable cause. You do not need a warrant. After the arrest is when you apply for a warrant.
Generally, a warrant is obtained before an arrest to authorize it, but it can be applied for after an arrest if the suspect was caught in the act or if an immediate warrantless arrest was made based on probable cause. In such cases, police must promptly file a complaint or affidavit to justify the detention to a magistrate.

if you re-read my post...they are asking for a warrant to make an arrest....before entering private property...schools...churches and medical facilities...no racial profiling...

not a warrant for a crime in progress or with probable cause...

I swear...they have been working on HWY 45...connecting Galveston to Houston for at least 6 years now...

progress is incredibly slow...seems like nothing is getting done...

when I have to go to Houston...I see road workers just standing around doing nothing...one guy with a shovel and 4 guys watching him...

it’s frustrating because about 2/3's of the exits are closed/blocked off...and it’s easy to overshoot your exit and have to take the next underpass to go back and try again...

my car is a 2024 Ford...and the GPS does not have all the updates to give good info on what exits are closed...it’s driving me nuts...

this is gonna take 100 years to finish at this rate...

Found this pic of them starting work...
