Things that annoy me (4 Viewers)

I agree with you to a point but when a former president pardons his son,37 murderers, the rest of his family, the Jan.6th committee and Fauci I really don't have a problem with him doing it. Also the DOJ had much more serious cases to investigate they were told to drop all that and
focus on Jan.6th.

You have very valid points and I agree with them too!

I don't have a problem with Trump pardoning most of the Jan.6 people but I don't think he should have on the ones that actually assaulted the police. I am bias having been a police officer for 40 years. But in regards to the other post about the 3 or 4 officers, think ex-officers now, that they continually interview. I remember watching some of there testimony when congress was having it's hearings and these officers were "sobbing" as they told congress their story. They said the protesters were calling them names and they were afraid for their life and how traumatic it was for them. I have a few words for those cops. You are Would not want any of them to be my partner. Probably left the police department because of the embarrassment they caused to the profession. There was a sign on the North Patrol Station in St louis. It read "Home of the real police". North St louis is for lack of a better term, a **** hole. When I pissed off a boss where did they send me? North St Louis. Just for the record. I did 9 months and got back to South St louis where there was a 180 in terms of area and people. The one thing I will give the Capital police is I'm sure until Jan. 6 there main duty was telling visitors where the nearest restroom was.
Great post. That Daniel Hodges guy they interview always looks as though he is going to cry.

The abuse of the presidential pardon power by both sides is nothing short of pathetic.
The non violent offenders in this case do not bother me as much as the commutation of federal death row sentences, that was borderline criminal in my opinion. How he was convinced to do that is beyond my imagination or comprehension.

This is what happens when the justice system isn't functioning properly as a neutral body. You get politically motivated prosecutions. Then as administrations change, the politicians feel as though they have to protect their own.

WTF? Most films that have won modern oscars are usually for me POS's.
TD
Shakespeare in love didn't do it for you over Saving Private Ryan then?

That's when I officially gave up on Hollyweird..............the Trump hate speeches at the Oscars ought to be.................something, coupled with wild applause from those entitled halfwits.

Bollocks to the lot of the leftie wankers, ( Lucky the US are quite quite non plus about what UK, think Wankers are, or Bollocks are for that matter)

Oh dear, what a pity, thank God, I've no skin in the Game on your side of the Ocean, otherwise I might be classed as someone who knows right from wrong, Good from Evil, Oh and can we have Pres Trump to sort out the ***** when he's finished over there !!

Wait; you didn't tell me it is a musical................that changes everything.
It sounds so bad, I'm almost curious to see it. Like an automobile accident. Hard to look away. I recently watched Eastwood's "Juror #2" which is a well done movie but the plot was laughable. When they introduced the twist early in the movie, I thought they must be kidding but even the worst Eastwood movie is better than this woke garbage.

Tom:

You are correct and let’s not forget at the last minute Biden also commuted the sentence of a murderer of 2 FBI agents.

With that being said, none of those actions, as disgusting as they are, absolves Trump from the same criticism for pardoning people who were convicted of assaulting police officers.

we are saying the same thing, I am not ok with the assault of law enforcement in any manner. I am only taking a guess here from the little detail I could find, but out of 1500 Jan 6 convictions, I am seeing about 100 that I have an issue with . Some of them were not as severe as others, but they were still violent to a degree toward law enforcement. They should not have been pardoned. They should have served their sentence.

I do see a point in the grand scheme of punishment, there is an argument made that the 1400 others would not have received felony convictions.

Like I said, I am ok with a majority of the pardons, but for reasons stated numerous times and in my own posts, not ok against law enforcement.

Apologies for any confusion, we are clearly on the same page.

How toxic have politics become in America? Yesterday, there was a voice message left on my home phone addressing my wife by name and claiming she had given the "seig heil" salute and calling her a scumbag. This was mystifying to us. I ran the phone number through Google and nothing. It appears to be spoofed. I did some further Google searches and it turns out there was a news story about some PA township supervisor in the Philadelphia area with the same name as my wife who allegedly posted something on social media with her arm raised like Musk. So some nut job is apparently calling everyone in the state of PA who has the same common name as this person and making abusive comments.

This one speaks for itself:

"Every Democrat in the U.S Senate on Wednesday voted against legislation that would have required doctors to provide lifesaving health care to infants who are born after a failed abortion attempt, with the party-line opposition effectively dooming the bill.

The “Born-Alive Abortion Survivors Protection Act,” which was introduced by Republican Sen. James Lankford, would have guaranteed equal protection under the law for “any infant born alive after an abortion.”
