Yeah, we've got such a successful track record on nation building. How much money have we poured into Haiti? And see how that's turned out.

Haiti, Afghanistan, Iraq (where we still have troops), Vietnam. There is a recent book about the terrorist attacks on US Marines back in the 1980s in Beirut which has almost been forgotten. I'm pretty sure that I won't be buying a condo there. I like to be optimistic and hope this is not a serious idea but a bargaining mechanism to have other countries jump in and pick up the entire tab to rebuild. They usually leave that to the US.
