What an inspiring story of perseverance. My daughter is graduating from college tomorrow. That alone would be grounds for celebration but she had a long, tough road to it. She was born in a Russian baby hospital in Moscow where I don't think she had ever been outdoors when we adopted her around one-year old. She had mild autism and struggled mightily in school. I can remember her school having an end of the year awards ceremony where she was often the only kid in her class not to get an award. Year after year. At 13-years old she had perfect attendance in school and was seemingly in great health when she was diagnosed with leukemia. One day she was fine, the next she was in the pediatric cancer center. She spent almost three years in treatment. Cancer free for almost ten years now. So good for her tomorrow. Graduating with honors.
Big time congratulations to your daughter, all the best on her continued success.
