Things that I really like (5 Viewers)

Trump has already countered with a "10% across the board worldwide tariff"; again, there are many moving parts to this, it's far from over/a done deal.
again...tell you like I said earlier...
"embrace the new 10% affordability tax"...
I'm not selling imports...it's "mo money...mo money...mo money" out of your pocket...

Oh and it's "over and above existing tariffs", so the UK is now 20%, China is now 40%.

So Doug, you're good, tariffs will still be place.

And no disrespect, but the idea that consumers would be looking for some sort of refund on the tariffs they paid is.....................well it's laughable beyond belief.

far as I'm concerned...that's right...it's only retroactive to the seller if anything comes of it...

sorry man...you're jumping all around...
don't know what Covid and Biden and have to do with these new tariffs...

which Trump now plans on raising another 10% today...what can I say...

embrace the new 10% affordability tax...
There's no jumping around. If you were concerned with businesses closing (and you are not), then the COVID lockdown caused more harm. If you are concerned with higher prices (and you are not), then the hyperinflation caused by Biden resulted in greater increases in prices. Your mantra is as follows. If Trump is for it, you are against it. No matter whether the policy is good or bad. If Trump cured cancer, then you would say he did it only for profit and was contributing to overpopulation.

Again, I'm not for or against tariffs. Depending on your business, there are some who benefit and some who are penalized. The fact remains that other countries have placed tariffs on US goods for decades. Resulting in an unfair trade advantage. This from the same countries whose national defense we have effectively covered since WWII. To the tune of billions. If your kids can't read, and you can't afford health care, it is because the US pays for the national defense of much of the world. Canada, for example, doesn't even have a single warship but they impose tariffs on US goods and side with China in a trade war. Trump has at least acknowledged the problem and tried to solve it. That's more than any other politician in my lifetime has done.

The Rentenmark. I had never heard of this until reading a series of books about the Weimar Republic. An ingenious means to cope with hyperinflation. If only someone had woke up Biden and told him about this.

If that were true about me… and it’s not, then you are the polar opposite of loving everything he does…

I guess what I don't get is if SCOTUS ruled his tariffs are illegal, then how do they not only remain in place but go UP 10% based on his comments today; so something that is illegal stays and we get whacked another 10% for what, spite?

I don't get any of this, this tariff BS has been dragging on for close to a year, enough is enough for me.

Unfortunately for us consumers there are other laws under which Trump can impose tariffs. This will not be resolved anytime soon.

I support some tarrifs, especially against China, I think Trump tried to do too much too soon, which is in his nature of course.

As for some of your other assertions, it makes me wonder where some of you guys get your 'facts' about Tarrifs, Covid etc. Canada responded in 'kind' to Trumps tarrifs, why would you be surprised about that.

At least Trump seems to have backed off somewhat regarding his comments about taking over Greenland, I think that was a step too far, even for him.

As for Canada's Navy, seems like they still have one; https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_current_ships_of_the_Royal_Canadian_Navy

The "ignore" feature on this forum. Tune the MAGA crowd right out. Hopefully, they do the same to me.

I find it hard to ignore certain posts, best thing would be if everyone stopped posting political comments per the forum rules, wouldn't it be nice :)

It's a great example of how the media spins it. They only ruled that certain tariffs are not permissible without the approval of Congress. There are other laws under which tariffs can be imposed by the President subject to certain conditions.

Canada has a very small coastal defense force. They don't need an actual navy because they realize their proximity to the US protects them from any invasion. In return, Canada has imposed tariffs on US goods and sided with China in a trade war against the US. Apparently concluding that they dislike Trump more than the communist Chinese.

Be caref8l; comments like that can get you put on ignore, you wouldn't want that would you?

I guess people are going to have to learn to live with the disappointment of being put on ignore by certain members.

Sounds like something one would do if they were 14, but whatever.

"I'm not listening la la la la la"..................

I am open to whatever people have to say about any subject, opposing views are always welcome and it's good to see how others feel/what they think about things, I don't have to agree with it, but I am open to someone elses viewpoint, this is how you learn and grow as a human being, it's called freedom of speech for a reason.

My youngest Sister and I don't always agree on politics, but we love each other and I respect her position and am open to what she has to say; ignoring her would be childish and petty, I see and hear stories all the time about how siblings and friends no longer speak due to political differences.

That's pathetically sad.

Disgusting is more like it.

As the saying goes; "I may not agree with what You Say, But I Will Defend to the Death Your Right to Say It."

Yes, I'm with you on this one. It's amazing to me that some get so upset by hearing contrary viewpoints. And the default is to "ignore" you. I'm willing to talk with anyone and like to hear their views even if I disagree with them. It's not a personal thing in my opinion if someone has a contrary opinion.
