Tigers gallery (1 Viewer)

I will say this (even though I will never buy one as they are not Horse & Musket period) these Tigers have got to be amongst the best models that have ever graced this forum. You guys that have ordered one will undoubtedly be very happy campers indeed.

Ana:

They are indeed work of art. I just sold some of my K&C Tigers to get 2 of these. I cannot put them side by side with the HB's. The color difference is to much pronounced... KC looks to bright and "cartoonish." In fairness to KC some were done quite well though, i.e. Tunisian Tiger, Puma, Stug IV (WS 47 & 69).

Well if I buy one of these masterpieces I may not be able to get anything for the rest of the month but now may be a great time because at the moment I am not planning on buying anything except a Figarti tank and maybe the resistance sets:D

When the pricing was first announced, I was the first to whine against HB's strategy...I was wrong as these Tigers are absolutely gorgeous...I am reconsidering my first inclination, not to buy one..They are wonderful, and I hope some of the buyers do not mind if I steal any of their ideas...Michael

Me too. When they first came out i thought although they were stunning i just couldn't justify that amount of money on one vehicle.I have completely changed my mind.I think i'm going to have to have one of these, they are just so good. Now i just have to decide on my version/additions etc.No easy task.

Congratulations Ana they are without doubt some of the best looking tanks i've ever seen.

Oz,
That is what I had heard, I may be incorrect. The Tigers in SPR are also converted T34's, so if in fact that are not the actual ones from Kelly's Heroes, they copied their mock up technique......

George, I watched "Kelly's Heroes" last night and first up watched a hundred or so Germans ignoring a jeep full of GI's, for a second or two I thought I had put "Hogan's Heroes" in the player  Anyway it did get more convincing after that and had some decent looking props for a comedy style of movie, although the laughs were rather subtle.

The "Tiger" was really good for that vintage of movie even though the turret seemed a bit small for the chassis. I also had another look at SPR to compare the Tigers and noticed that SPR did make them more convincing, but no doubt they had more money to play with.

SPR is still my fav, but of course it had a few errors including Captain Miller firing his machine gun through the Tiger's vision slit (they had toughened glass) and some other GI's opening the turret hatch to drop in grenades etc (usually locked from the inside).

I did not see anything wrong with the kill Tiger scene..In my Sgt. Rock comics, he did it all the time:D...Michael

Hey Mad, serve me up a helping of crow too!! I am trying to decide which Tiger to have made too. It is a toss up between the 505th or the 507th Heavy Tank Battalion. These tanks are expensive but they are also perfect too. When you see what people are paying for the warbirds that others are now making, these tanks are not that bad in price after all. ;)

If you could find copies of Jean Restayn's Tiger I on the Western Front and Tiger I on the Eastern Front, that would be a great help to you.

Still waiting for my Tiger. I understand that T=Frog has it but is waiting for the base to arrive before sending it along.

BTW for those who might not realize it, Ana can customize the bases as well as the Tigers as goes seasonal conditions. Mine has a snow covering to match the white washed Tiger from the 505.

The Tiger model of HB is excellent, but I still must say that Andy's new DAK Tiger is really quite a bit of rolling steel for the buck. I bought one from Matt and I added a few customizable touches. But I NEEED a European version, and right now its lookin like Im gonna haveto pony up for one of these germs. Anyone got theres yet? How did it look, as good as the photos? Please let me know.
