Simply SUPERB!!

Too bad the real army tanks don't look this good- a lot of guys might have been tempted to re-up.

Yo Troopers, Ex QOH cavalry tanks, some saying they would like to see them next to the real thing. Dont know if you have a Tank museum on your side of the world if not, save the dollars and visit the Tank museum in Bovington Dorset UK. I was lucky enough to be station there for two years and have sat in every tank ever made from first World war to the 1960s. They used to let you get into all the tanks, dont know if they still do. But they had all the Tigers etc lined up opposite the Shermans & Churchills, and serious ours were a load of tin cans compared to the German tanks. I often used to think then as a young boy, how the hell did we beat them. The Royal Tiger is awesome. Put it on your holiday list guys not to be missed.
Bernard.

I'm with Steel Wheels 1000% on this one; regardless if the Tigers were T34 mock ups or not (I read somewhere that the two Tigers in Saving Private Ryan were in fact two of the Tigers from Kelly's Heroes; there were three guarding the bank), the fact that they and the Shermans were in the movie (loved the scene during the day with the huge US column of Shermans, halftracks, trucks, etc; ditto for the night capture of the German General and all the German vehicles) made the entire movie for me.

Hollywood up until that point had always used US vehicles for German tanks, never getting this right. Even A Bridge Too Far, one of my all time favorites, used modern German tanks as Panthers, although they pretty much nailed the recon probe across the bridge with all the halftracks and armored cars, a truly brilliant scene.

The movie is far from historically accurate as the GI's gear was more Vietnam era than WWII, but the one liners are classics in my book, if I've watched the movie once, I've watched it 100 times. May not be to everyone's taste, but there you go.........

George, I've only ever seen the movie once and that was many years ago. I actually have it in my dvd collection but haven't had the time to watch it again but I'll make an effort to do so and check out the Tigers etc in it. And I'm sure most members would agree that realistic props such as the converted T-34s are preferable, and I didn't know about the use of those two tanks in SPR.

Oz,
That is what I had heard, I may be incorrect. The Tigers in SPR are also converted T34's, so if in fact that are not the actual ones from Kelly's Heroes, they copied their mock up technique......

This is one of those 'Tigers' used in SPR at the War and Peace show in the UK back in 2003. Not a bad effort imo.

Same, same for me too.

Carlos, the good thing is that now that the boyzz have some experience with the various styling methods, ours will be much better. I'm waiting for mine too. I think it's in the next group.
