time on my hands at last (11 Viewers)

Relaxing, preparing and arrival of Adolf Hitler, 1941 Obersalzberg in Southern Germany, this Alpine cottage 'the Berghof' evolved to become the Fuhrer's Southern headquarters of the Third Reich. Robin.

Robin...

your photographic skills are really getting good...

since you have your new "man cave"...

have you set up an area that is working better for taking pics?

all of these are nice...

The big change is the setting up time and packing away Mike. Everything is in easy reach, so this dio only took minutes to layout, whereas previously I would spend an hour just trying to get to everything, knowing a whole lot of time would also be needed to put it all back, a big turn off. With almost everything visible lends itself to grabbing from other series to cross utilise. Early days, but I am extremely pleased the way this is working out. The dio's are done in my section of the room under 6 ceiling lights, so plenty bright enough. My son has the other 2 sections with his pool table, 70in tv & music equipment. This is really a store room for me. Have 4 permanent displays. Robin.

Posing the seated SS soldaten for a pic is a novel idea. Very well done series. Chris

Robin...

I'm sure it's nice to be able to be organized and have some space to work...

you should keep one table clear...with sufficient lighting...that you can do your set-ups for pictures on...

I know when I used to set up dioramas it was always a pain to collect the proper lighting figures...buildings...trees...props...etc...

you sound much more organized now...and that's good for you as I know you like to share your collection...

I think I would start moving your section over a few inches at a time so your son won't notice...^&grin

...or even drop a few subtle hints about having his own place (depends on his age of course) :wink2: ^&grin

Here we have a Parliament holding a Sponge 'a simple sheepskin sponge for damping down embers in the gun and for cleaning the bore', while another holds a Ladle 'a copper-headed ladle for placing propellant charge in the bore of the gun', also a Shot gauge 'a simple shot gauge made from wood would be placed over the shot to see which projectile best suited which gun'. Robin.

Very nice Robin - those buildings are fantastic. You certainly have a nice collection of jeeps as well - beautiful figures and vehicles!
