time on my hands at last (2 Viewers)

Here we have a Parliament holding a Sponge 'a simple sheepskin sponge for damping down embers in the gun and for cleaning the bore', while another holds a Ladle 'a copper-headed ladle for placing propellant charge in the bore of the gun', also a Shot gauge 'a simple shot gauge made from wood would be placed over the shot to see which projectile best suited which gun'. Robin.

okay Robin...

that clears up the artillery equipment question...

is the chipmunk gonna be used as gun fodder...

and is he rabid enough to inflict a little more damage if he can bite someone on the enemy side...^&grin

nice pic...

this is like some Monty Python artillery rounds...^&grin

Sunday 17th September 1944, a column of British Para jeeps race to Arnhem, little knowing in a short while they will be stopped in their tracks by murderous German cross fire. Robin.

That's really quite a spectacular display Robin, not much can beat a column of jeeps and Para's, other than a nasty line of German armour approaching form the opposite direction maybe?^&grin

Great seeing them all together and I like how you've 'manned' the Howitzer. Fantastic building as well and the backdrop works a treat......I'm all inspired for the MG range yet again.{sm4}

How come the French are using a German 77cm gun , Robin ???

Captured from the Ottomans????

Please enlighten me ??

John

PS love the setup :) :)

TG have indicated they will one day produce a artillery piece, but as usual I am impatient so hence this piece on lone from as you say the Turks. I use artistic licence all the time in my dio's and if push comes to shove could concoct a scenario on how the unlikely pieces have come together most times^&grin. John with your grasp on equipment and uniforms you could just about pull everyone on my dio's to bits, but hopefully you will take pity on my lack of historical knowledge and send me on my way. Robin.
Hope you had a lovely day yesterday. Good to hear from you.

TG have indicated they will one day produce a artillery piece, .

Yes, I have read that too, but if its FFL, I'm sure it will be a mountain gun, but that may also include a mule team :) ????

Like this that I painted for Luiz using Scale Link figures, Mountford mules and an unknown make of gun

Mt_gun.JPG

The main French Arty piece for this period is the 75 mm, but as that needed a team of horses, or a vehicle to tow it, maybe that would only be part of a WW1 scenario ???

Happy New Year,

John

That set would be just the ticket John, if you have any influence with Tom, please press him. Two would be on my hit list leaving 98 for everyone else^&grin. Robin.
