Trophy Crimean War sets (2 Viewers)

Great Sets. I have few of the British Infantry but no Russians or Cavalry yet. Still looking though. Wish I had gotten them before Len retired.

Gary L.

Many thanks Gary, please add pictures of your sets to the thread:salute::

Blimey Martyn, these are great! Just how many CW sets did Trophy make? ^&cool

Jeff

Jeff: According to the Trophy of Texas catalogue there were 43 including the "Lion". Martyn has the Blue Marines set which would make 44. I think there is a single figure of the commanding general but my old Trophy catalogues are at my office. Martyn has access to his and can add to my answer I feel certain. Good question!

Tommy & Martyn,

Thanks for that :) Still makes for a decent collection, btw what does HMS Lion look like?

Jeff

You can add set CWS 15SF Sherwood Foresters Firing to the list. I have one which contains an officer and five firing figures.

Gary L.

Wow! Now that is a magnificent model to have, really smart looking. ^&cool

Thank you. :smile2:

Jeff

Thanks Jeff. On the bridge are the Royal Marine Lt. Infantry sets CWS14D(at the ready), CWS15D(standing and firing) and CWS23D(Queen Colours) which you don't see many of.

Martyn: Do you have a drummer and piper to go with these sets? The piper I have has a sporran but the drummer doesn't. Have you seen a drummer with a sporran? Maybe there was a command set with a drummer?

Hi Tommy

Unfortunately I don't have either. I haven't seen reference to a Piper, Drummer or Command set for the Crimean series, they could have been repainted figures from the Napoleonic set WA64A, the drummer in this set doesn't have a sporran but the piper does. I have scanned a picture of the two figures I am talking about from the MKL catalogue. I would love to get hold of both and add them to my Crimean sets as I think they go perfectly.

Thanks Martyn. I have those except in a different Highland Regt. I will try and photograph and post this week.
