Trophy of Wales (2 Viewers)

And a further farthing, the faces look similar from the nose up. The neck area is a little thin. I agree on the slings. So, no Trophy? I'm thinking not, though a neat set it would be.
Mike

I think you should get it Mike, in for a penny and all that, what :p

Re: Nordenfeldt machine gun

Hi Raymond

Glad you like the Nordenfeldt;) and it is Dragon Crest.

They did make a Maxim, in the EGYPT and SUDAN series, set no:SEQ6. I don't have one but I believe Damian does.

Here are a couple of clips of a Nordenfeldt

Martyn,

Thanks for the clips on the Nordenfeldt.

Here is one of young Churchill charging with the 21st Lancers at Omdurman.

I found it while watching your clips.

Damian as you know as well as I do Len has sub or changed figures or poses in his sets from time to time. Here's the Zulus that came in my sets of HZ21 and HZ29 as you'll note are side by side......Joe

002-10.jpg

In HZ 29 (Deadly impact) the bayonet is drenched in blood and there is a hole in the Zulu's abdominal wall to lodge it in. The Zulu has been skewered good and proper. So it is a bit of a blood thirsty set.

Damian do you have the set? Here's a copy of a supplement cover I got from Len with the last order I received from him and he's featuring the figures in the thrid photo as set HZ29 "Deadly Impact" is it another of his changing of figures from his original........The Lt.

I think I have solved the mystery of the “Impaled Zulu”

The actual set is HZ 28 not HZ 29, here is a close up of the incident

Brian,
Good question! 100$ would seem...high. $700 is beyond the pale! The winning bidder mfarr004 , seems familiar to me as outbidding me on multiple sets over the past several months. I detest going up against Trumps and Rockefeller's!
Mike

I also detest going up against the Trumps and Rockefellers.:(
Although, I must say he is building up a nice set of Trophy figures.
Brian

Wow things are really a bit out of hand now.
I suppose all the spare sets have been mopped up now and things are becoming quite rare

Again, my fave AZW team! A small troop of Natal Mounted Police moves through Rorke's Drift on the way to the front in mid January, 1879.
Can anyone pick out the discrepency? And it's not the fine WB Hospital on the Trophy thread!

I KNOW ! I KNOW !
You've only used 3/4 of an ounce of carefully trimmed Acapulco Gold for the groundcover ?
NO ?
Is it that the 4th N.M.P. along also has a springy tail ?
Well I give up then  Lovely shot -that groundcover looks like work !
Best,John

The last figure doesn't appear to be holding a rifle. He does look like hes has some assegais to compensate

John,
Close on the dicrepensy, but no cigar lighting yet. The groundwork is a simple Lemax foliage mat, that does shed, more than my dog, but I glued it to some cardboard. I keep an old vacumm nearby nonetheless, in case of accidents or delirate misdeeds.

SCHWING!
He is holding a carbine, but has a mysterious quiver of spears that as far as I know was not issued to him. Nice call Scott!
Maybe he was raised by Zulus from birth and knows the antics of Shaka!

Good morning guys, well it is 0335hrs this side of the pond.

Now that does seem a bit steep:eek: glad my Hospital set never went on Ebay:cool:

Just off to a Militaria Show at The Historic Dockyard Chatham in Kent, have to recoup some of the money spent last week;)

Cheers

Martyn:)

Two mounted members of the Royal Artillery rush past their 7 pounder Rifled Muzzle Loader to try to stem the Zulu attack on the camp at Isandlwana. They will need to pack up soon enough.
