That set remains a classic Joe and I am glad it has found a good home in Maine.
I can see your photos OK, but Martyn's do not download at all.
I will keep working on the problem.
Regards
Damian

That is one very nice set Joe;)

On the other hand, those Mahdi followers, the fuzzy-wuzzy dervishes, look like bloody clowns in those techni-color dreamcoats!:p

Don't be nasty about their attire:p I bet you think they are all called Joseph:D

Cheers

Joseph was Christian. I'm not intending to be nasty, simply observant. They look like clowns in my opinion. A Gatling crewman must have had a big smile on his face crankin' away at these guys!
Mike

Mike,

I see what you mean.....

Your spelling, Sir.

Raymond.:)

Rainman,
I'm sorree. EDJUMACASION. Always had a tough time in spelling, with rulers coming down on knuckles, and the threat of public humiliation at every corner!
Mike

Dave,
You're absolutely right! Shows what ecumenical Catholisism with a Jesuit edumaction gets me!:D
Mke

Knew we had more than Trophy and Little Legion in common. My knuckels still remember the Sisters of Notre Dame and I remember the crush I had on one of them she was so beautiful in my young eyes.......The Lt.

You do realize that they were bald underneath those habits, right?

The Little Sisters of No Mercy was it.
I was raised by the Marist Brothers and my father in an orphanage by the Dominicans who made little boys who wet their beds in winter stand with the wet sheet round them in the quad. As Brother Brendan loved to say this is going to hurt me more than it hurts you.

Nordenfeldt machine gun

Good Morning Martyn,

Very nice set. DEQ49: the D for Dragon Crest I presume.

Just the firepower needed for the Dervish hordes.

Of Swedish origin..... I mean the Nordenfeldt Machine Gun.

I wonder if Trophy made a Maxim gun, the successor to the Nordenfeldt.

Best, Raymond.:)

Hi Raymond

Glad you like the Nordenfeldt;) and it is Dragon Crest.

They did make a Maxim, in the EGYPT and SUDAN series, set no:SEQ6. I don't have one but I believe Damian does.

Here are a couple of clips of a Nordenfeldt

Guys,
Here's a set on e-bay of alledged Trophy figures. http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&ssPageName=STRK:MEWAX:IT&item=170317667623 They almost look Trophy to me. They have blue home sevice helmets and the facings are yellow(80th:cool:?) Are they really Trophy? Methinks...
Mike

Mike

The rifles all have slings in the picture, none of my Trophy figures have rifles with slings. I have had a look in my Trophy catalogues and the only figures with slings attached to their rifles are in the WW1 series ie Lee Enfields and the rifles being held by the figures in the auction are not Lee Enfields;)

Just my tuppence worth

Cheers

Martyn:)

And a further farthing, the faces look similar from the nose up. The neck area is a little thin. I agree on the slings. So, no Trophy? I'm thinking not, though a neat set it would be.
