Trophy - zulu war sets (2 Viewers)

Martyn,
That ZS57E, King's Dragoon Guard with assegai impaled in thigh, is a tough one. I've never seen one anywhere! The others are obtainable if we wait patiently for someone to cough them up!

Raymond,
I checked that out right after we had our discussion...It just popped up in the last week or so on Mike's website. I can't get any response from him as yet...

Mike,

Not too surprised.

I wrote him about 3 months back about some other items but I never got a reply :(.

I think his priorities have changed.

Raymond :(.

You folks actually have made me ashamed of myself. At one time, long long ago, I actually owned some 25 Trophy sets. I got bored with the same poses, no matter the era and sold them all, except for their ACW Union horse drawn limber set and the 2 ACW Union artillery with different crews. I always thought that these were some of their best work...Hope you all ,can forgive me:(... Michael

Re: Trophy - Zulu war sets

Lt.,
I am not fortunate enough to have any of the single-base double figure HZ sets:(. Those are really nice and thanks for posting and to Martyn for the ID of the #s. I do have the bearded fellow in the bottom picture but I can't remember the set# , unfortunately right now I'm tied up with snow plowing, directing young men on how to correctly shovel snow, spread salt and other apparently not-so-obvious ways of doing stuff.

The second picture down also features the 24th figure from HZ29 which I haven't found yet;)

Hi Martyn,

Pray tell from which set does this figure combing his hair come from?

Thanks, Raymond:).

I like the camplife sets and non military action sets that Trophy made and try to get them when I can. Currently Little Legion does not make camplife sets, hopefully LL will make them in the future.

When did Trophy start producing sets and when did they close up shop?

Brian

Hi Raymond

I am sorry I can't give you a specific set number, I bought him along with several others way back in 1991. There is a set on Ebay at the moment that features 4 of the figures I bought along with this one, it is described as TD2A The Encampment. The set for sale includes a native woman with a pot but this figure is included in my set EQ31 - Field Kitchen. The set, which includes the guy combing his hair, could be TD2. I have several sets in Trophy boxes which have no label.

Sorry I could not be of further help

Cheers

Martyn:)

Here is a link to the Ebay set

I think Trophy was in production from 1972-2006.

Hello Martyn,

Thank you kindly for the information.

I have been on the look out for the set with this figure combing his hair.

You are probably right in saying is it from Set TD2*.

I have duly noted Set TD2A currently listed on eBay.

Thanks again, Raymond.

Well if you cannot beat em join em.
Here are some Trophy AZW sets
