Trophy - zulu war sets (1 Viewer)

Over and above all of the goodies I've seen that you've brought home to date from the show I've seen your ZW sets growing in leaps and bounds and I'm sure the little kid in you couldn't wait to get at them. It seem like our friend Sir Len Taylor once again added another twist to set HZ29 featuring the Zulu Warrior it your set with a knobkerries instead of a spear. I also knew you'd be featuring the Colour-Sergeant as soon as he was released from his red box. Love the Wagon and the horses are the best I've seen done by Trophy to date. Thanks Martyn and looking forward to what else is headed our way....The Lt.

Hi Joe

Glad you like them, knew you would;)

I'll post another couple of new ones tomorrow

Cheers

Martyn:)

Hawkeye, I had never seen it before Saturday. As per the norm for Trophy there is a TM and 1996 date stamped on the underside of the horses base, perhaps the set wasn't popular enough to continue in the range as it doesn't appear in the 1998 catalogue

I knew you would like this one Mike;), the load is resin not metal.

Cheers

Martyn:)
Martyn,
All the above info makes this particular wagon set a true rarity, a keeper on your part, and a real treat to have ID'd on the forum. I really must reiterate my pleasure and happiness for you finding this gem!
Mike

Martyn,
Thanks for making the target more identifiable for the upcoming "Assault on Trophy HQ".
Mike

Hi Mike

Thanks for the "heads up", the wagon has been replaced with a concrete brick, still weighs the same, to create a bit of confusion:p

Cheers

Stick a fork in me I am done !!! :D :D :D Excellent pics Martyn, but I am always partial to the mounted troops. Glad that you have a full set now, perhaps maybe just add a few regular troopers to expand the charge. Were the Trophy mounted figures sold individually and as sets?

I see, Martyn was an Officer short of a full set!;):D:D Well I think he certainly made up for that last Saturday

Hi Scott

Very pleased you like them;)

I found all of my KDG in single sets but I believe they were available in sets of three when they were first released.

Does anyone know the difference between these two sets, apart from the slight change of positioning with the figures?

Oh man do I have Trophy envy. I wonder if I can trade all my stuff in for Trophy sets. If only we had them at the shop. These sets are wonderful. They were some of the first soldiers my father gave me. Along with some Imperial.

Martyn,
Is the second one molded in? Mine has the two figures that fit into the identations in the base.

Thanks kilted vampire

I nearly sold all of mine a couple of years ago:eek:

Hi Mike

The answer is, one base is made from resin and the other is metal. Not visible but very easy to tell by holding the two, one is three times heavier than the other.;) Perhaps Len intended to produce sets with resin bases if he had continued trading, we may never know:(

Cheers

Martyn:)
