Trophy - zulu war sets (4 Viewers)

Hi Mike

The answer is, one base is made from resin and the other is metal. Not visible but very easy to tell by holding the two, one is three times heavier than the other.;) Perhaps Len intended to produce sets with resin bases if he had continued trading, we may never know:(

Cheers

Martyn:)

That's it! Mine is resin. just like the base I have for the BD9 "Spears are Washed" with the poor little drummer buy. I'm going to wager that the metal base is the older version?

Hi Joe

You are quite correct, the pair are set HZ19.

Glad you like the pictures;)

Still got 3 more AZW sets to go from Saturday, I'll be posting one shortly

Cheers

Hi Mike

Thanks for reminding me about the WASHING THE SPEARS set, you are right the base is resin, exactly the same as one of the HZ 19 sets.

Now here is another question for you, when you display your set of WASHING THE SPEARS how do you have the figures positioned? I know the “instruction sheet” that came with the set states “ this young lad, badly wounded, he slumps over his drum” but I don’t think this is the way the figure should be displayed. I’ve attached a picture of my set layout.

Martyn,
Ill see what it looks like at home later, but yours looks fine to me... I think the poo little guy has already departed this world.
What's that rowdy colonial dressed as FLH doing in the Imperial Tent section, hiding?:p

Martyn,
Ive looked at the base and it even has indents for the drummer's legs... The blood goes well both ways... his arse-end is flat for sitting though. Bonus on bottom

More great figures guys and I agree the drummer lad looks better sitting beside the drum.

Thanks for your pictures Mike

I think he has to be sitting as half his body is suspended in mid air:eek:

Here is a scan of the blurb I received with the BD9 box

There we are Joe, three different variations.;)

Thanks for posting this one, I like it.

I know the wounded Officer, you posted a while back, appeared in many guises, I wonder if there are any more of the Induna.

Cheers

Hmmm... I think I might have one of Joe's and one of yours, I'll have to post later on as I don't have them at work with me:eek: I do of course have Fred Thesiger with me...
