Martyn,
I am waiting in caffeine-induced antiicipation for more of the Eshowe relief column!!!!!! I am reading Norris-Newman's autobiography and just finished the relief with the pipers of the 91st and the 60th KRRC arriving at the mission station and the welcome they received from the besieged Pearson et al. Very timely and a great battle of the coast! Thank you so much for the pictures of these fine men and boys! Mike

Great sets GICOP,

Particularly like that drummer and the pipers.

Was the drummer ever on general release i.e. as part of the 24th?

If so, do you know the set number? The command set I have has a bugler being shot and a mounted officer looking through binoculors

Hi the 999th

Glad you like the Pipers and drummer.

After Len at Trophy had agreed to paint the sets of British Regiments present at the Battle of Gingindlovu for me I looked through the Trophy catalogue for figures that could be painted to represent soldiers that were not available within the Trophy Zulu War range.

I found the Pipers and drummer in the “HIGHLAND BRIGADE ON PARADE IN CAMPAIGN DRESS” series and had the figures painted to represent the 91st.

The Pipers and drummer can be found in these sets:

Set no.HP3 or HP3/V ( Pipers)
Set no.HP4 (Drummers)

Hi Martyn,

What an beautiful series of Trophy sets! Obviously, you have an amazing collection and I am enjoying viewing every piece! Thank you for posting these incredible pictures.

Warmest personal regards,

Wow Martyn,

When ever you post new pics there is always something that replaces my favourite from the last round of pictures. In this lot I don't know what to choose :eek: as this is more of my type of toy soldier collecting. Camp life parades etc....

Thanks for sharing more of your wicked Trophy collection.

Scott

Many thanks Scott and Pat for your kind comments

Cheers

Martyn:)

Hi Joe

Glad you continue to enjoy the pictures and thank you for your kind remarks.

The answer to your question is yes, these are all brand new pictures taken this afternoon and yes the thrill is still very much there. When I open some of the boxes with no info on the outside, it is almost like Xmas not knowing what I will find inside. I have decided that over the next couple of weeks I am going to have to make a serious list of every set.

Cheers

Martyn:)

Martyn,
More nice sets for us to enjoy and use as reference! I'm with Scott in particularly being fond of the Camp life and unusual sides of The Queen's Men on Campaign. This last batch is very interesting, in that they are quite rare to begin with. I recognize some of the molds/figures and even have a couple, but not the complete sets that you enjoy. Thank you for making our days a little brighter:) Mike

Thanks Mike

Still got a few more tucked away including the "one offs" of :

The 3rd (East Kent - The Buffs) Regt. of Foot

The 57th (West Middlesex) Regt. of Foot

The 99th (The Duke of Edinburgh's) Regt. of Foot

Cheers

What a spectacular collection. While I have a few basic Zulu War figures, I had no idea of the scope and detail of the Trophy offerings. What a shame they no longer produce. -- lancer
