Trophy - zulu war sets (1 Viewer)

Hi Joe

Glad you liked the Storehouse.

The figure of Schiese that you show is one of the figures I have in my early Storehouse set. I think there are 24 or 25 separate figures in the set including Pip. I am determined to find the missing double figure and when I do I will picture them all.

Cheers

Martyn:)

Happy hunting Martyn and looking forward to the photos.......Joe

Here is an early TROPHY figure CPL. SCHIESE. I think this came before the Hand to Hand set with the figure painted as a wounded 24TH defender.

This is a model of the Storehouse at Rorkes Drift. I know it was made as a “one off” but I am not sure who made it.

Here is the same figure, this time 24th in one of the early Hand to Hand sets

GICOP,
Thanks as always for posting pictures of these "Collector's Items". I saw your early Hand to Hand set with the Zulu warrior with spoon utensil in his isicoco and am wondering if Trophy painted these utensils in the headring and earlobe on just the early sets, or more recent as well?
Mike

Hi Mike

Not sure about the spoon utensil in his isicoco being found only on early sets, I'll check a few more and see what I find.

Thanks Martyn for another great selection of photos and featuring your two Storehouses one of which is Trophys. There's quite a difference in the 1991 set and the 1999 set. The figures of Bromhead and Schiess are different. a Bugler was added and the following figures were deleted. Dalton, Reynolds. Hook and Connolly, L SGT T William, CPL Anderson and XHOSA. You'll note that the Stone Walls were changed and the Stairs added. In the long run Martyn you made out better than the later collectors of the Storehouse...The Lt.

Hi Joe

Glad you like the set and thanks for the info about the 1999 set.

Cheers

Martyn:)

Great batch of photos Martyn. Are these hand to hand set that you put together or are they sets you had Len make for you. I've notice only one of Trophy Hand to Hand Sets HZ9 the others seem to be made up from various setsand correct me if I'm wrong. I know I've been putting together figures from various sets to create a batch of my own to photographic. Once again looking forward to seeing what else is headed our way and thanks for sharing them.....The Lt.

Hi Joe

I must put my "hands up" and admit I was greatly influenced by you.

Glad you like them.

Cheers

Martyn:)

Martyn,
You can put your hands down. We love those little beauties! I really like the one with the uncovered officer with white cords and sword, a new one for me.
Thanks for posting! Mike

More great pics Martyn, my favourite has to be the dead guy laying over the top of the mealie bags.

Scott,
I believe Little Legion redid the pose. Wouldn't it be great to collect the same poses by two different makers? Good eyes by the way... I spent a while looking at that one myself! Mike

It certainly would be interesting to see the differences between manufacturers. I wonder what Kens (WBritains) version would look like in matte or gloss :D

Hi Mike

Here is that Officer again, lurking behind the gun, trying in vain to save it from the Zulus. He is wearing blue britches the same as in the picture posted by the Lt.

Sincere thanks go to the Lt. (Joe) for providing the back drop picture

Martyn,
Nice action piece with a beautiful gun to be protected. Great to see you're really immersed in the whole photo set-up thing. Looks great!
