Two pictures of a Gatling gun position

The first one has the position manned by the NAVAL BRIGADE.

Maartyn,
Very nice Troopers, but they are overwhelmed :)by your expert landscaping and picture taking skills. The natural lighting and terrain make the troopers look REAL! Wonderful picture.
Where'd the natural light come from, if sun isn't forecast 'till May?
Mike

More juicy surprises with every picture!
Where did the white dress Naval guy on the wagon in Gatling photo #1 come from? A new one for me, and I absolutely love seeing new Trophy figs that I didn't know were out there!

Hi Mike

Glad you like the pictures, no natural light in any of them just one regular light and one lamp to the side.

I would just like to add that all inspiration I have for the photo ideas and layout must be credited to Joe (the Lt). He has given me some great ideas and his pictures are numero uno.

Cheers

Well spotted regards the sailor on the wagon, here is another picture of him and his twin bother delivering the rum ration.

They were not bought as part of a set, if I remember rightly they were sitting on a shelf in MKL Models back in the 1990's and I thought they would be great as an addition so I bought them.:D

Here is another special for you.

You will probably recognise the 24th figure as the gunner from BD2 “the Lost Gun”

Nice way to introduce your Kings Own Dragoon Gaurds Martyn follwed with the Death of The Prince Imperial which you've captured very nicely as well as putting the Gatling Guns to good use. Had a hunch you couldn't wait to release your Dragoons from their boxes shortly after their arrival. I appreciate the compliment given Martyn but it's nice knowing it got you sharing your collection with us and joining in the play time. Wonder what you've got next headed our way.......The Lt.

Martyn,
It is great that you've shown these sets, in order! It will make great reference for us fellow collectors. I know it will help me. Thanks.

My pleasure Mike.

Now I'm off to the London Toy Soldier Show

Cheers

I have just returned from a wonderful day at the London Toy Soldier Show. I found several sets of Trophy Zulu that I needed for the collection plus and a BIG PLUS I found

EQ15 NAVAL BRIGADE OXEN DRAWN WAGON plus contents which are
2 Oxen
1 Drover
8 figures, should have been 6 but the set included two extra figures
and supplies

And then I happened on EQ11 NAVAL BRIGADE OXEN DRWN 4.7 NAVAL GUN plus contents which are
6 Oxen
3 Drovers
3 Sailors marching
3 Sailors seated
1 4.7 gun
1 limber

I realise the 4.7 gun was not used in the Zulu War but it was an excellent deal and an “offer I could not refuse” all the figures can be used in various Zulu War dioramas

To complete a great day I also bought

HZ24
BD10
ZS58,59,62,64,70 and 72
And the last 2 WBritain mealie bag wall section left on sale

Father Christmas arrived early;)

Cheers

Martyn:)

PS I am starting my own herd of Oxen:D
