Trophy - zulu war sets (2 Viewers)

Thanks Mike

Still got a few more tucked away including the "one offs" of :

The 3rd (East Kent - The Buffs) Regt. of Foot

The 57th (West Middlesex) Regt. of Foot

The 99th (The Duke of Edinburgh's) Regt. of Foot

Cheers

Martyn:)

And we still need/want:

4th Kings Own
13th 1st Somersetshire
21st Royal North British Fusiliers
80th Staffordshire Volunteers
88th Connaught Rangers
Royal Engineers on road duty
and...Many lesser known colonial units
Any I missed? Mike

Missed 58th Rutlandshire Regiment.
I would love to have had Trophy do a supply offload onto a dock like in Durban or the Cape with men marching down the plank and Artillery cannon swinging from the ropes and horses in stretchers and people waving and Naval/Army commanders smoking and kids begging:rolleyes: Mike

Hi Mike

Now there are some great ideas but unfortunately with the demise of Trophy they will not come to pass:( What a collection they would have made:)

Cheers

Perhaps these will come in time through Britains Zulu series. I think they would be great if done in matte imagine the cook scene or the guy grooming himself sculpted by Ken

I have a set of Heliograph signalers by DORSET (Ulundi) and a set of working party 24th by WESSEX (preparing the pontoon at Rorkes Drift) that would have been excellent if reproduced by TROPHY.

Cheers

Again Nice sets. I have a slightly different General Wagon set EQ29A.

Are the table and benches Trophy? I haven't seen them before.

I think Little Legion are probably a better bet for the lesser known regiments in the near future. They already do quite a few colonial regiments, marines and the 60th rifles and blend reasonably well with Trophy.

Hi the 999th

The table and benches are from a set called BRITISH ARMY AT HOME by DORSET.

It would be great if LL did some other Imperial units besides 24th , 17th, 90th. I haven'nt seen the 60th KRRC at all by LL and the marines are scarce minus the Gatling set. Mike Norris probably has his hands full completing the 3rd Column 1st Invasion related figures. He is the ideal choice to take over where Trophy left off.

All this talk of which other Regiments should be available has encouraged me to delve into the toy box again:)

Here we have the 57th (West Middlesex) Regt. of Foot

Thanks for posting all those great pictures
They are wonderful
It is a pity Trophy is no more.
LL is the successor. His figures go well with Trophy. THe WB glossy are great but are a bot small to match with the Trophy and LL

Here is a close up of the colours of the 57th

Attached some images of LL's 60th. I think Mike will do them in any 24th pose.

In terms of marine sets. I have the advancing set (z145) but you can also get 3 privates standing firing (z147), 3 standing at the ready (z150), 3 kneeling firing (z148) and 3 kneeling to repel (z149) as well as a dead rating (z163)

Now that I've removed my head from my rear, I do have these guys as well as the same castings in Durban Mounted Rifles and Alexandra Mounted Rifles!
Haven't seen the RMLI or RMA yet.
Thanks 999th for posting the set...Do me a favor and post in LL when you get a chance so we can use the photos for reference! :):)Mike

Alexandria rifles? Didn't know LL made them. Would love to see them

I'll post the 60th in the LL thread.

Here are a few more sets with the odd extra figure

Nice way of featuring your sets Martyn and adding to them looking forward to what's next........The Lt.

Here is an early TROPHY figure CPL. SCHIESE. I think this came before the Hand to Hand set with the figure painted as a wounded 24TH defender.

This is a model of the Storehouse at Rorkes Drift. I know it was made as a “one off” but I am not sure who made it.

I agree with you Martyn on the figure Schiess being the forerunner of th 24th figure provided in set HZ4A but here's also another figure of him from an earlier Storehouse set which features his name and rank on the base of the figure. Who ever did the Storehouse in your photo did a great job with it. It's one of the best I've ever seen keeping in mind that I'm proud of mine:rolleyes::rolleyes::rolleyes:..........The Lt.

Hi Joe

Glad you liked the Storehouse.

The figure of Schiese that you show is one of the figures I have in my early Storehouse set. I think there are 24 or 25 separate figures in the set including Pip. I am determined to find the missing double figure and when I do I will picture them all.

Cheers

Martyn:)
