Martyn:)

Hi Martyn,

I tend to get mixed up whenever I see photographs of ZS67.

It reminds me of the Pvt. James Chick figure which is featured in a similar standing firing pose without helmet.

There is also another version/s of Pvt. John Williams in ZS52.

Cheers, Raymond:)

Hi Raymond

As you rightly say it can be quite confusing but that adds to the fun of collecting AZW:D

Before the VC series was released four of the figures were available in the "Hookey leads them out" set which was the add on set to " The Store House at the Drift" the second version of the "Defence of Rorke's Drift" boxed set;)

Hi Brian

Glad you like them.

The only set I can find evidence of some of the figures appearing in is set#SRD - THE STORE HOUSE AT THE DRIFT

Hi Joe

Thanks for the info and picture, there were no others from the Storehouse.

The VC winners had a break at set#68, set#69 was BRITISH FALLEN IN ZULULAND 1879 followed by set#ZS70 SENIOR IZINDUNA then the series came back with 4 of the last ever Trophy AZW releases namely ZS71 LT. COLONEL REDVERS BULLER V.C. 60th RIFLES, ZS72 LIEUTENANT E.S. BROWNE V. C. 24TH REGIMENT, ZS73 COLOUR SERGEANT A. BOOTH V.C. 80TH REGIMENT and ZS74 THE ONLY ONE - PRIVATE SAMUEL WASSALL V.C. 80TH REGIMENT and PRIVATE THOMAS WESTWOOD 80TH REGIMENT.

Martyn correct me if I'm wrong Len never did create a figure of Colour-Sergeant Bourne. I don't ever remember seeing one and I wonder why...........The Lt.

Hi Joe

Len did one for both the original "Defence of Rorke's Drift" and "Store House at the Drift" sets.

Thanks you once again Sir Martyn he's one that has to be added to my want list along with the three others on it. Forgot to mention it on my last post I do now remember seeing the sets after ZS68 and thank you for the update...........Joe

He is also in ZS52, with others.

Hi Brian

Thank you for the picture of ZS52

The only figures from this set that do not appear in the VC winners series are HOOK assisting CONNELLY.

There are two versions of this set, one from ZS52 “Hookey leads them out” with HOOK wearing a helmet

and one from the “Defence of Rorke’s Drift” where HOOK is bareheaded

Hi Martyn,

Do you know if Trophy made figures of all 23 winners of the Victoria Cross for the entire Anglo-Zulu War campaign ?

Thanks, Raymond.:confused::)

Hi Raymond

Unfortunately they missed making these:-

28th March - HOLBANE MOUNTAIN

MAJOR WILLIAM KNOX-LEET, 13th Infantry
SUB-LIEUTENANT HENRY LYONS, 90th Light Infantry
PRIVATE EDWARD JOHN FOWLER, 90th Light Infantry

3rd July - WHITE MFOLOZI RIVER, ULUNDI

CAPTAIN, THE HONOURABLE WILLIAM LESLIE de la BERESFORD, 9th Qeens Royal Lancers
CAPTAIN HENRY CECIL DUDGEON D'ARCY, The Frontier Light Horse
SERGEANT EDMUND O'TOOLE, The Frontier Light Horse

The VC Winners sets that were released followed the date order of how they were won therefore it is highly likely that the missing sets would have joined the others, but unfortunately Trophy was sold:(

Hi Martyn,

Thank you for the time and effort to put this list up.

Therefore, Trophy should have 17 VC winners for the AZW.

Storehouse Set (1st Release) = 11

Lt. Melville (dismounted) = 1, Lt. Melville (mounted) = 1 (one count)

Lt. Coghill (dismounted) = 1

Lt. Col. Buller = 1

Lt. Browne = 1

Pvt. Wassall = 1

That makes a total of 16....I was never good at figures.:p

There is one more, but I am not sure which.

Cheers, Raymond:)
