Thank God-right! My niece who is a sophomore at UT was out in that proximity last night. My sister was in a justified full blown panic once the calls from other Mom’s etc. woke her up & of course the daughter could not be reached. All good, but there will be a new COMMS protocol moving forward!

All too true. There are legitimate reasons for concern about these types of military undertakings as most such prior efforts have been a disaster. I'm hopefully that Trump has learned from past mistakes and no American troops will be put on the ground. This should be a quick effort that either succeeds or fails in the next few weeks with the Iranian people having an opportunity to determine their own fate. Success can take several forms here. Most importantly, ending Iran's efforts to develop a nuclear weapon. That can never be allowed to happen. If that means retaining basically the same regime but with a firm commitment not to pursue nuclear weapons after the existing facilities are destroyed, so be it. It could also mean an entire reset in Iran with a new government that aligns itself with the goals of civilization rather than barbarism. An achievable goal in Iran because they have a wealthy, educated populace unlike the situation in Afghanistan.

Strangely many of the Muslim countries have been supportive while most of our "allies" in Europe and elsewhere have checked out as usual. Maybe that Canadian Navy will come to the rescue.

I think the characterization of trumpers is not fully true here. If you like some of his policies does that make you a trumper? As a moderate, I pay a social price because I am not anti trump and to me that is utterly ridiculous. No president in my lifetime has ever been perfect for me and I am resigned to the fact they never will. Do I think Trump had an unfair road against the Washington elite from the get go, yes just look at the farce of Russia gate or the search of maralago. Do I think he has displayed poor leadership at times including January 6, yes there too. Point being imo people should stop looking at him and analyze more about where we as the usa re, and individuals. I can say I am better off at the moment all the way around and I am happy with the military actions. Do I want to be in Iran for the next 20 years no.
