Whew! After too many hours of work, we finally have the updated forum for all to use.

We're still tweaking the color scheme...but thought you'd like to have SOMETHING active. Let us know what you think.

Let us know if you run into any problems. The forum may look very similar to the old one, but it runs on a completely different platform. We're learning the complete functionality little by little.

Looks awesome mate as they say a change is as good as a holiday well done Pete and all involved.

Looking good, Pete.
I love the color as it is right now.
Thanks for the hard work.
Konrad

the color scheme seems a bit confusing to me...as it doesn't seem to separate the formatted areas with everything in a gray/green...maybe I will grow to like it...but the old color schemes seemed more attractive...easier on the eyes and a little more seperated...

I am so glad you're back on though...

Looks good so far.. If there's one thing I'm getting used to it's change in software applications.. At first it can be disconcerting, but everyone will get used to the new forum look, feel and functionality.

Is the Facebook Platform new? I don't think I've ever noticed it before.

I noticed that linked pictures (i.e. photobucket) appear to be resized to 800 pixels wide. Is this a default setting that still needs to be adjusted or is this a new standard? I hope we aren't limited to 800 pixels width for linked pics.

Yo Peter, sorry mate this has lost me, cannot even understand the layout of my own albums, and I put them up lol. Two albums dont show the main photo saved?, then when I click on say album two it shows a few photos then text underneath which has nothing to do with the photos shown. But the text is another photo which is not shown so you have to click on it, so half the photos are shown and the others are in text format, if I cannot follow it dont see how any of the guys or visitors will be able to understand what they are looking at, nothing is in order.
Bernard.

In a thread, the old forum underlined or somehow highlighted a link to a off-site. Would be nice if we could see this capability again, otherwise the links are easily missed. Especially useful for library scans of older reference materials.

What did we all get demoted in rank?
In your profile before you could look under statistics and you could find your old posts and threads, where are these now?

Agree new color scheme is not as easy on the eyes; old format was better....Old saying is true: "if it ain't broke don't fix it"

Gotta agree, also SEARCH doesn't seem to be working

Cheers

Quite a few niggles in the system which, hopefully, will iron out especially in the profile box. It does seem a lot of work for a reason I am unsure about. Agree if its not broke don't fix.

I cannot find older posts or threads of mine either???? are they gone are in the kinks trying to get fixed?? kinda reminds me of the canadian toy soldier forum which is a little confusing...Sammy

We had a long discussion of color last night (we knew it wasn't quite right)...but after 7 hours of upgrading we decided to launch what we had and work on the colors as we go.

There wasn't an option to 'keep it the same as before.' The whole platform has changed, so our templates are no longer usable. We're in the process of recreating a look and feel that people will enjoy (though we may need sunglasses while we do it!).

You'll notice that Facebook is now tied in...you can easily 'Like' a thread if you wish.

There will soon be a mobile version for smartphone users (and possibly apps for Android and iPhones), making the mobile experience much more user friendly.

Thought my Mac had crashed. After all the snow shoveling, had to keep my sunglasses on to view the forum. However, guess I'm getting use to it. As a side-note, it's also a lot like another forum...

I guess I will get use to this. Hope some color is added. Pages look too stark. J
