What Toy Soldier items Have You Acquired in The Last 2 Weeks ? (5 Viewers)

Gentle Friends,

I, too, received a very nice Father's Day gift from my wife. It is a very fine set of William Hocker Imperial Durbar figures (1877 Durbar.) Specifically, it is set #148/29, The Emblem Bearers of Cutch. If you will excuse my less than professional photography, you may view a few photos of this set below. I hope you enjoy seeing the figures.

Warmest personal regards,

Pat :smile2:

Very nice! Wm. Hocker's Durbar figures are my favorites of his whole range.

Congratulations to you both, Pat and Roan! Those are some fine acquisitions, good score!

Prost!

My newest Heco Tinplate Models Rolls Royce Armored Car (two tone desert camouflage) arrived today, but I purchased it a month ago, so I'm not sure it counts.

For me it was the Collectors Showcase Hitlers Office. Although I am a dealer and get in many items this was one where I knew I would be keeping the last one for myself. Since I collect leaders it is a great display item for them.

I also have it. This set will be a classic down the road IMO. :smile2:

Acquired this 23 days ago(they're not really soldiers-but they very well could have been ex-spent some time in the Cavalry?)

Rec'd some 24th Foot Zulu War figs from my wife for our 32nd Anniversary today.

Latest piece now, in these past two weeks, is an Imrie-Risley 17th Light Dragoon, mounted. At $25 winning bid and shipping, it's still nearly 50% cheaper than the kit would be, if I were to order it from I/R today (now $40 for a mounted figure kit, and that's before shipping).

The figure is already finished, but I bought it to re-do it as a 15th LD from the Seven Years War, so I was just glad to get it.

Prost!

finished paying for a diorama from TM Terrain, also picked up the First Legion Russian 45mm gun set and the First Legion exsplosive group set, hoping to get the FL Winter Panzer next...Sammy

Successfully bid on a vintage boxed set of W. Britains Set No.1850 Netherlands Infantry, in near mint condition (Armies of the World box in generally excellent condition). Not cheap, but fairly rare in this condition (James Opie Rarity Index of 92 if boxed) and only manufactured 1939-1941, as a non-cataloged set. Will be the rarest set of Britains in my collection. Have been very careful recently as to any new acquisitions. The availabilty/quality/cost triangle issue, particularly on a fixed retirement income, being a fundamental factor. Consider myself extremely fortunate.

Nice catch, Jim!

My Stadden British cavalry are cleaned up and primed, and the I/R light dragoon is sitting in a jar of Super Clean, to remove the old paint, and to dissolve the adhesive that stuck him and his horse to a ceramic tile base. Those will all appear in the Painters forum and in my gallery, once I've finished.

Prost!

Man Jim That is a fantastic pick up and the soldiers look amazing!

I hate to think of the competition you had on this one! Rare is an understatement as well.

Thanks for sharing the photo with us.
