Upon first discovering King&Country miniatures back in 2007 I was immediately impressed by the quality > Detail > Painting >sculpting to name a few. The very first set that I purchased was the defenders from the 'FALL OF BERLIN" series. I was hooked ever since.What still strikes me to this very day is I found K&C while surfing the internet.These are not found at any shopping mall or retail chain but Toy Soldier shops sprinkled about the various parts of the country.When visitors come into my home they are immediately greeted by 2 curio cabinets in the living room packed full of K&C vehicles and figures.In the dining room adjacent are 2 acrylic displays also housing my favorite K&C releases. I have a very understanding wife !!!!
What surprises people the most is that they had no idea where to go to obtain these treasures.They also first think that they are models made of plastic and painted.When they handle a piece for the first time in their own hands they are all taken aback by the weight of each figures pewter composition and the detailed painting down to buttons,creases in clothing ,etc.
Then the weight of the polystone vehicles results in utter amazement by their replies and expressions. For now it is up to all of us collectors to help spread the news about the greatness and sheer fun of our hobby. As an added note people come away from all of this as not simply collecting toy soldiers but seeing first hand that these are of the highest quality historical miniatures capable of telling chapters in history through dioramas and displays.

A nice variety in your collection. From a self preservation fact, to ensure I see lots of new offerings, it is important to spread the fact they exist and are available for new collectors/new money, to flow on to the makers to keep them motivated. Cheers, Robin.

I often wonder how new collectors are drawn into the hobby. I too found them by doing research on LAH on the internet. I am much younger (age 27) than most collectors, but all of my friends are also drawn to my collection whenever they visit. I'd be interested to know how KC gains new collectors because it doesn't seem easy to find them.

I have been a TS collector since I was a kid, but the urge went dormant for a long time. On a trip to to the G-burg battlefield in about 1998, I went into several stores and discovered KC in them. This awakened the dormant collecting bug in me and has not slowed since. It was the matte figures and the wonderful number of different vehicles that re-hooked me. All thanks to KC.{bravo}} -- Al

I was browsing the web and came across this and i bought it straight away and ive been hooked on K+C ever since.{bravo}}

I got into collecting 11 years ago when I bought a few Conte figures at a store in Gettysburg. Until 3 years ago I only collected ACW figures. I had admired K&C WWII figures for years online though, and when I decided to foray into WWII as well I knew where to turn. I still buy from a large number of manufacturers, but I have 100 or more K&C figures and over 20 vehicles now. My favorite K&C range at the moment is RAF!

To answer the thread question is very easy. Because they quite simply make the best vehicles and figures, from a whole series of different theatres of WW2, at a competitive price and on a regular basis. K&C have carved out their own place in the TS World and the style is highly recognizable and attractive,its very addictive collecting their product!:smile2:.

I agree, its one of the best aspects of this forum to see what others do with their collections.
