Brazil has won the WC 5 times and Italy 4 times but Germany does own the record for Top 2 finishes with 8, as they have won 4 times and come in second 4 times as well. -- AlWell done Germany
I think that makes it four times you have won it
A record
Wouldn't you just know it. I watch this whole bleeping game, another 0-0 funfest, go into extra time, and I just HAD to use the restroom. Naturally, I'm gone maybe 2 minutes and I miss the ONLY goal, the WINNING goal, the ONLY goal of the WC final. I hate soccer. {eek3} -- Al

It wasn't a dull 0-0 game but 0-0 is still 0-0. I don't get the whole DVR thing. Taping a live event and watching it later is still watching something that has already taken place. A replay of the goal shown by the network or watching the DVR is the same thing. And while I'm questioning things, why do they play 2 15 minute periods for extra time instead of just one 30 minute period? I mean, since a goal in the first 15 minute period doesn't end the game, why separate the the extra time? Doesn't make sense. Anyway, it wasn't a bad game and I am glad it didn't go to those ridiculous penalty kicks. -- AlThat's why they have DVRs :wink2: Sorry if you didn't like a nil nil game but it was a great tournament and a well played match and I'm glad it didn't go to penalties.

John, I'm too old-fashioned a dinosaur to fool with such new-fangled technology like DVR's. I don't watch already played sporting events. It's live or ESPN highlites later on. As to the OT in soccer, someone already mentioned that maybe soccer could take men off the field in OT in order to open up play a little bit. Perhaps sudden death, as well. If those don't work, then go to the penalty kicks but moce the spot back and give the goalie a legitimate chance to stop the ball instead of relying on a fluke, correct guess or a choking shooter. JMO.:wink2: -- AlAl,
Here we go again with you...dude how much running do you want these guys to do? Is an hour and a half not a enough. Then when no goal is made then go into overtime and break it into two so they can get a rest and WATER. Do you want them to play now for 2 hours with no break?
Al your hardcore man, and get a DVR yo, it will make your viewing life so much easier.
