Yeomanry Miniatures (1 Viewer)

You won't be disappointed Louis. I have my kit version - which is in the pipeline for building and painting at some future point. Snag is, I have a backlog of other projects stacking up before it - so it will just have to wait its turn.

I MUST STOP BUYING STUFF!!!!!!! jb

I have no doubt that I will be very pleased with the set, like all my other Yeomanry Miniatures vehicles. I believe John Firth is buying a casting of the Mobile Canteen to paint as part of an RAF vignette he is making me, so I will end up with 3 different versions of this vehicle.:wink2:

Louis,

You get an assist. Thanks to you and the posted pictures I ordered the Mobile Canteen set and the RAF "flyboys" of course. I went with the blue Church Army version after seeing some great wartime images like the ones added below. Looking forward to this addition as I have not added much to the collection in a while.

Tally Ho,
Marc

John Firth did in fact obtain a casting of the mobile canteen to paint for me, so I will have three different versions of this wonderful vehicle in my collection.:wink2:

Hello Folks!
It is a while since I have posted pictures on this thread but as I now have the Crewe Tractor built on the Ford Model T chassis at the L.N.W.R. works at Crewe in production I thought I should let you have alook at it. At the moment it comes complete with a short length of track and the road version can be made available upon special request.

Reguards to all,

Brian

I thought you might like to know that Yeomanry Miniatures now have their 1904 Rolls Royce Staff Car in production. There will be a few at the London Toy Soldier Show on 25th June and orders can be placed now.

The car and occupants comprising of Driver, 2 Staff Officers and a General Officer retails at £119.95 painted and £69.95 as a kit of parts, for all of you who prefer to do your own thing.

I enclose some pictures of the finished article.

See you at the show.

My RAF version of the mobile canteen arrived safely today, and I could not be more pleased!^&cool^&cool The painting is as good as I've seen in regular glossy production, and the vehicle is outstanding!:wink2:

I can't wait to see the version John Firth is painting for me!:smile2:

I hope my set lands soon! I ordered a dark blue Church Army version. The following pictures were motivation for the set.

Marc,

I am sure you are going to love this vehicle.:wink2: In addition to the RAF version, John Firth purchased castings of the mobile canteen to paint for me, and I have committed to buy another version, so I will end up with three!^&cool

Hi Louis,

I'm glad your set has arrived safely.

Regards,

Brian.

Hi Beau,

Your Church Army version is nearing completion and will be ready to ship next week. I have five more on the go at the moment.

Incidentally the pictures of Church Army Mobile Canteens you posted appear to be post war versions from the dress of the men and the small Commer van I believe did not go into production until 1948

Regards,

Yeoman

Brian,

Could you please post or e-mail photos of the Church Army version you are doing for Marc (Beaufighter)? I promised to buy another version from you (plus John Firth purchased a casting of the mobile canteen he is going to paint for me) and I might want one in the same Church Army paint scheme.:wink2:

Right on Brian-thanks for the SITEP. Understood regarding the images but they were just "motivation" for the specific purchase as anything tied in with something flying related is special to me. I really wanted the Salvation Army version but liked the blue color of the Church Army one. I must admit I know very little about the "Commer" van but loved the flight line service depicted. Louis, I will post photos when the set touches down here. Here are some other pictures (love the TEA CAR) I bookmarked months ago when I was considering purchasing one of these mobile canteens along with the pilot set. Please enjoy...

Cheers,

One more photo to share that I think is quite remarkable...

Hi Marc,

If you would like your blue canteen with Salvation Army markings ibstead of Church Army markings it can be arranged very easily. Let me know and I'll arrange for the appropriate decals to be put on it. No problem.

Regards,

Brian.

Hi Brian,

Thanks a lot for the great news, specially regarding the items (2) and (4)!! I am also a Crazy guy for the heavies hence the 60 pdr is more than welcome!! Any idea of adding more heavies? I guess that many of us collectors that did not reach the market when TAW was at its highest productive levels and may not have seen or bought heavies, and Mountford quiting the market........Hence, we missed great opportunites to add them to our collections.
Cheers
Luiz

Hi Brian,
What is the status to the proposed artillery sets for the British Army you menciones that would be coming out in 2013?
Cheers

Nice of you to offer Brian but I will stick with the blue Church Army version unless you can convince me otherwise with some great wartime aircrew/airfield related photo showing the "Salvation Army" version. As louis would say, this is probably just an opportunity to order another version than make the hard selection.

Thank You,
Marc

Hi Luiz and John,

The Position with regard to Artillery is as follows:-

I have already taken delivery of the masters for a number of guns and limbers but in the main I still require crews for them.

1) I have recently put into moulds a 12 pound Napoleon with limber and ammunition wagon for my new ACW Series. A 12 pound Parrot has also been put into a mould. A Confederate set of figures manhandling the Napoleon is about to be put into a mould.

2) Masters received for a 9 pdr Rifled Muzzle Loader and Limber for The Buckinghamshire Yeomanry Artillery. Master figures still required.

3) I have received the masters for a 13 and 18 pdr with limber. Again master figures required to go with them.

4) In the pipeline, to be made, the 15pdr QF gun made by the German Company Ehrhardt together with limber and ammunition wagon. Issued to British Troops in South Africa and still in use in 1916 by some Territorial Units in France.

5) Also to be made a 60 pdr, but this will not materialise until the latter half of 2013.

There are a number of other projects which are already in the pipeline which will have to be cleared before items 4 & 5 can be started, however, it is my intention to produce all items in both the finished painted form as well as supplying castings for those who derive their pleasure from the hobby by assembling and painting their purchases. So look out for new releases on the forum.

Regards,

Brian.

Hi Brian,

Any news on this front? As you know other than the defunct Mountford, TAW, Henchliffe and a sporadic Britains feeble sortie in the matter there is no one fielding decent WW1 heavies /Empire Artillery in the market.....Look forward to hearing from you. If someone were to parachute into the toy soldier world and had limited knowledge of WW1 ..... Would assume that no Artillery took part in WW1.
Cheers

Hi Buster,

Just to let you know the foot sloggers set will be available next month.

Regards,

Brian.

Hi Marc,

The only clear picture I have of a mobile canteen in Salvation Army livery is of an Austin 10 and it is camoflaged. I have attached a copy of the picture for reference.

Hi Luiz,

Following last year's scramble to get items into production following customer's requests for WW1 transport I have found that once they were produced the enthusiasm seemed to evaporate and several items have not, as yet, reached their break even point despite featuring them here on Treefrog and reviews in Toy Soldier Collector. This has meant that the start of 2013 has become a consolidation period with several projects put on hold as I do not have the spare cash to enable me to forge ahead at the same pace as I did last year.

For example: While I would love to start work on the 60pdr the masters for the gun and full crew together with the moulds etc will cost somewhere in the region of £1,000.00 to bring it into production. I am aware that there is currently a hole in the market but at the moment I am unable to fill it and I'm afraid you'll have to be patient until I am in a position to start the process.

In the meantime, the ACW gun set will be available next month and a Boer War/North West Frontier Maxim gun in action with related figures will be available in July. Beyond this I am not prepared to commit myself for the time being.

I hope that you understand that the current financial climate has a lot to do with the current problems and will bear with me.

Regards,

Brian
