The Washington Swamp would be good.

Here is a timely article by Andrew Roberts, who wrote the best single biography on Churchill.

To read this is distressing.

Thanks for sharing. That makes me really upset. I grew up in an American household where quite frankly Churchill was the most revered historical figure of all. My late Father who had a Doctorate in Education and History was a Churchill Scholar and I was schooled in all things Churchill from a "wee lad". Most of my friends talked about Washington, Lincoln, Jefferson which of course I knew about being a history kid, but I talked mostly about Churchill. They always when we were young wanted to know who the heck that was! Nobody is perfect, but in my opinion, there is no finer defender of freedom in all of history than Winston Spencer Churchill. He is still someone I admire, crave to learn more about and above all hold in the highest esteem. He is a true historical hero.

And for the record, My Father would be considered today to be a strong moderate liberal leaning individual, most certainly a member of the Democratic party! He and I had many intellectual and "political" discussions while he was alive. He was the most unbiased and fair person I have ever known and not just saying that because he was my Father, he truly practiced what he preached. He was an educator and administrator for a number of disadvantaged racially and poverty line urban school systems. He was truly color blind and worked for the good of all. So, if Churchill was good enough for him to call a hero and passed his barometer, definitely good enough for me.

The movement has popped up everywhere Mark along with the Extinction Rebellion nutters.

All lives matter and yes the climate does change and has done since the creation of the planets.

The sooner we stop referring to a race of people by colour the better IMO.

As for the 'WOKE' movement......heck where do you start??

Not sure if you saw the note - Antietam Battlefield is a National Battlefield and part of the National Park Service. I think that's the whole point - when does it end, apparently a National Battlefield Park is now being assaulted. Anyone with any historical intelligence is going to find that insulting.

In a related matter, the National Defense Authorization Act (vetoed by Trump) mandates the name change of all military bases named after Confederate generals and admirals. Would include Forts Bragg, AP Hill, Hood, Lee and all others. Chris
