I just got home from golf. It was beautiful out there! After this winter, it felt great to be in some sunshine!

Well, Ahab had his white whale and for me, these three sets were the same (albeit not as dangerous to hunt them out)! I could not believe it when I was approached about them being for sale. The first four pictures are the King & Country Chess Set and the last is the Les Miserable Set.

Just back from the MFCA show. Wow, were there some spectacular pieces there. About a year ago, I commissioned Marion Ball to make this Lakota Warrior for me. The casting is from Pegaso. I had fairly high expectations knowing Marion's past work, but when I walked into the exhibition room and saw this, I was blown away! This piece far exceeded expectations. Many of you were at the show and got to see it in person. It's a shame, no matter how the pictures are taken, it just doesn't compare to the real thing. Here are some photos:

This one is far afield of anything I have, but I just completely fell in love with it. It's Jules Verne from Michael Kontraros. It's all scratch built. Michael is a wonderful guy too if ever you get a chance to chat with him. In speaking with him, you can tell he loves doing what he does and is so attached to each piece.

Did you get the Jules Verne at the Show. I don't remember seeing it.

Verne is almost, in my opinion, forgotten today. When I was a kid, I devoured his books.

Loved Verne's works as a kid but it has been decades since I have read him. I have a children's edition of 20,000 Leagues given to me by my parents when I was about 9 or 10 years old which has a place on my SciFi shelf. -- Al

Brad, I did get it there. It was in the back of the exhibition room in with the fantasy stuff.

Zach,
I'm speechless over this; mere words can't convey how spectacular this is; fainting face down onto the floor after seeing it would be an appropriate reaction.

Needless to say, I'm sure you're thrilled to have it, unreal...................

I chose Marion to paint it bc I knew she was great, but that being said, this FAR exceeded my expectations! I really could not be happier with it

Here are a few new additions. These were all kits that I had ordered and had Mike DeMarco paint for me (there is a thread about him in the "services" forum). The first is HG Wells and his toy soldiers and the others are various kits of IDF soldiers. They are all approx 54mm, but the single figure is 120mm.

I picked this one up at the MCFA show. Thor and Nikki (Aeroart)'s table was the first one on the right as you came in the door. It was the quickest I have ever spent money at a show. From entrance to giving my credit card was approximately 1 1/2 minutes! ^&grin

This is RD21 It is Catherine the Great with her servant. There is some back story about her lover having just left the room or something like that. I'll have to ask Nikki what the story is and then will post here. The catalog name of this one is "Empress Seated w/Table, Screen, Couch and Chess Board. It was made by Sineus for Aeroart. Nikki told me the Catherine sculpt is the same one that appears inside "Catherine the Great's Carriage" RD19 (which, if anyone ever sees, buy it and I'll pay you back! :salute::)

I am totally in love with this mini diorama. I think the screen is probably the best part of it!

It's been a while since I've updated this, so here are some "newish" additions to the collection - enjoy

First up are some modern Honk Kong Police from K&C. We have the patrol men, the riot police and the HK police Land Cruiser

These are both silk road figures from K&C. I really love this line! I am only missing one now. I listed it in the wanted section, but no luck so far! {sm2}

These are the Silk Road Porters and the Merchants Pack Mule

Now for some new K&C. This is the new bride and groom in gloss accompanied by their new dogs! I think the painting on these, especially the woman, is spectacular

These are two AeroArt Prototypes that I recently received. When i was talking to Thor about the Iberian Celt, he seemed really fascinated by this part of history, so we may be seeing some more like him ( I hope)

First up is The Iberian Celt prototype #6360, followed by the prototype figure of Mongol Warrior w/Sword and Shield #6364
