Zach's Collection (1 Viewer)

28mm Dodge City diorama that I just got.
It is made with Greenwood and Ball figures. The diorama was made by Little Lead Soldiers

Zach,
I enjoyed babysitting this one! Too cool for school

I love displaying my figures with the real thing - when they are based upon real historical figures

I needed some more figures for my 6 day war diorama. As Vietnam was during the same era, I thought they'd work well. I contacted Pat Gallagher to see what he thought. After us both looking around, we found an image of some IDF soldiers of the time in soft bucket hats....and with that we were off to the races!!!! Pat removed any camo on the figures and altered all of the black web belts, straps etc to desert tan. He also added some backpacks to figure and painted an IDF medic logo on the back of the medic. I think he did a great job and unless you're a true rivet counter (some of the weapons would not have been in Israel) they work great!

That's awesome Zach! WOW!{eek3} I love the lantern light effect with flame lit garments and light reflection on the bottle. Is it 75mm?
Thanks for the photo and congrats!

Joe

Yeah. 75mm
The lantern is the first thing that I commented on when Ernesto showed me preliminary photos! It’s so well done.

Aeroart just released this figure and I love it!
One of my favorite groupings of their figures are the Borgia series and she fits right in there! It's odd to focus on one thing, but I think hands down, this is the best Aeroart has ever done with a female face and more so, the hair. The hair sculpt and painting are possible the best in my collection

The first of the Russian Figures is
Napoleon Mounted. If anyone is familiar with this figure, please let me know about it. I saw it and liked it but am unsure if this is the correct info. I was told it is a Metal Models figure painted by the Kolobob studio. The number is odd - it is
S7-F34
I really like the figure. I think the painting on the face is amazing!

This next one is Richard the Lionheart Carrying Battle Axe - AeroArt St. Petersburg Collection - 6447
I think the figure from the front is fantastic. From the back, I think the weathering on the cape is a touch sloppy. Also, very minor, but If I'm going to be hyper critical, it's off to be as weathered as he is, but yet have a sparkling gleaming axe head. again, I don't care and love the figure, but can see a complaint there if you're picky.

Really nice detail on the Napoleon - I have not seen that version before. That Richard looks like quite heroic- it seems to me that more pieces are being painted weathered these days- I am split between the increasing realism vs seeming less like a "toy" soldier.

I just received my latest commission. This one had me pretty stressed out! Got lost in the mail between Germany and the USA!!! Thankfully it arrived and in perfect condition.
This is Musketeers in the Tavern. It is a kit from Irbis Miniatures and I had it painted by Olga Kropotova. In my opinion, she is currently one of the best painters out there. For those of you who collect or know about Russian figures, she is the daughter of Tatiana. When Olga received the kit, she was not happy with it, so sculpted some additions herself and redid some of what was already there. All of the decoration on the fireplace was added as well as the china on the mantle. To me, it's the little things that make a great diorama - the freehand work she did on the walls and the painting on the plates is simply amazing to me!
This scene is based on the painting by Frank Moss Bennett

Absolutely amazing!^&cool

Zach, more than the normal high praise for your collection. The books of Dumas are some of my personal favorites to reread through my life. This is stunning. This and the boy on the raft are some of my favorites from your collection.

I love the Dutch masters and have several repro paintings in my home. Your figs are wonderful but I have a hard time seeing them as original figs. Can you post without photo enhancements? They look fantastic in any case. Congrats on a great addition to your collection. Chris

Very cool - great paint and great scene - you are right it's the little details that really set it apart.
Is Olga the daughter of Tatiana of Nevskaya?
How did the commission project work and how do you contact her - does she have a website?
Did you buy and then ship to Germany or did you have it sent directly there - how long did it take to get back to the US?
