Things that annoy me (2 Viewers)

Looks like Hunter Biden is back on the nose candy. Having seen clips of his recent podcast interview and actions, sadly, I don't think he is long for the world. If he keeps it up, he will od and that will be the end of him. Sad really, he blew through a lot of money, we will never know how much he spent on addiction and parties. He is seeking relevance, but I think he will find only infamy followed by pity quickly followed by oblivion.

I always say karma finds a way home.

They would no doubt blame that on Trump.

It's strange that the family of MLK Jr. is complaining about the release of files relating to his assassination. For years they have claimed that there was a conspiracy to kill him. You might think that they would want information released.

This one is a little of a head scratcher. I understand the grief, that will never go away on something so public and honestly monumental. I can't imagine there is anything in there salacious that hasn't come out before (that would reflect badly on MLK). IF there is, well, that would be truly sad but I don't believe it. I feel like much like the ballyhooed Warren Commission, the files will reveal not much of substance. Cover ups back then were easier to do, no digital footprint, no records, no living "witnesses", etc. SO, I believe the reason not much will be revealed is that either A. there is nothing to reveal or B. all actual 'evidence" was long ago destroyed.

I always say karma finds a way home.Sadly addiction kills so many without prejudice or conscience.

Tom:

Great post.

In many ways drug addiction is an equalizer that most refuse to acknowledge while many try to politically weaponize.

It destroys across political lines and ignores petty ideologies.

The media intentionally conflating stories to promote a desired narrative. Russia tried to influence the 2016 election = Trump must have colluded with Russia. Now it's Trump was an acquaintance of Epstein (show a picture of them at some event) = Trump was engaged in a criminal enterprise with Epstein.

Doug,
I have said this before in many ways, the Media hates Trump, he doesn't fit the mold or play the game. If he was in Dallas in 1963 and they could insinuate he pulled the trigger, they would say he killed Kennedy. It is almost a sick obsession.

And before the barbs from other board members who can't resist much like the media when the word "Trump" is typed, this is not meant to be political, I truly believe what I posted above is a fact.

I agree the incident should be evaluated and if improvements can be made so be it. As I posted no matter what happens people are always looking to blame someone. Some things you just cannot control. Here is another thing that I just shake my head. Example the guy that was killed at the Trump rally in Butler, Pa. I,ve seen it reported that he was a hero because he through himself in front of his family to protect them from the bullets. No he didn't that bullet struck him before he knew what was happening. How about some plane crashes where the deceased pilot was a hero because he avoided , you name it. No if he had any control of that plane he would have landed it or I would guess the moment he knew there was big time trouble the last thing he would have thought of I have got to avoid, again you name it, and crash this plane where no one else is hurt.
Texas is already having meetings and hearings to evaluate ways to better respond to mass casualty flood incidents.

Among other things everyone agrees that specialty teams like water rescue should have a dedicated radio frequency in order to coordinate more efficiently.

No arrogance, no attitude, just emergency services admitting they are open to criticism in order to improve.

Hopefully they do sort some issues out! Having always lived near a variety of rivers my entire life, I am no stranger to flooding!
Rochester, MN flooded in the 1970s and got wiped out. When they re-built it was with thought so it wouldn't happen again. And it hasn't....sad that even in the 20 years I've lived here I've seen many of the small towns around get wiped out, but when they re-build, it is always now with more flood safety in place!
We are out on the Mississippi River, Zumbro River and variety of lakes all the time, and flood precautions done properly do not take away from the beauty of the areas in the least in my opinion. I see it all from many angles including my home, a boat, a kayak, a bike...sometimes the trails go under water, but then you bike/walk another route on higher ground!
There are some who always push back that precautions take away from nature.

ESPN's coverage of the home run derby. Three plus hours. Thankfully I only watched about five minutes. Here's a tip for ESPN. If you are covering a HR contest, maybe try to show the HRs instead of the players standing in dugout or families. Awful.
Yes, boring. Same with the All Star game ,the way they decided the winner sucked even though I like Schwarber. The All Star game was ruined when they went to inter-league play which I dislike. I also hate that ghost runner in extra innings.

Texans who say how nice it is when it is 95 degrees outside throughout July and August.

Maybe you have lived in Texas all of your life or you lived on the equator, either way Texas’ summers are simply miserable.

Right now our Summer in MD has been statistically hotter than Austin. Go figure! I like the hot weather personally, I can always retreat inside to AC. I hate cold weather, snow and miserable rain. But that's me!

We got together at a friends house last night for some burgers and adult beverages around 6:00PM, sat outside at his two picnic tables to eat, then moved onto his back yard patio with chairs.............and I was miserable the whole time, it was hot and humid as balls, totally uncomfortable, the point of getting together is not to retreat into the AC............Summers are too hot for the most part to hang outside for any extended period of time...........give me September through November for that, March through May as well, hard pass June through August.

But that's me.

You all seem like a bunch of sissy's! Growing up we had no air conditioning. My parents did not get air conditioning until after I was married and out of the house. All we had were a box fan that was in a window and turned on at night to pull in some cooler night air. I remember my mom telling us "don't complain about the heat as we are all hot". Up until I was 12 years old we lived in Jefferson Barracks. It was an old army post when after WW 2 because of the housing shortage they converted the old wooden army barracks into apartments. Only veterans could live there. Then when we moved into a house it did not have air conditioning but at least it had a basement where it was a bit cooler. About the first 4 years on the police department none of the cars had AC. Also looking back on the police department in the first 4 or so years the only radio we had was in the car, no portable radio that you carried on your person. As I look back how dangerous was that? But I was in my early 20's, nothing could happen to me!

Ha ha....you guys, try Summer in Australia when the Earth is closest to the Sun mid January, it's like a 'sweat bath' downunder 🥵🥵

Ahh the good old days!

My first car had no A/C, but it did have the 260, 2 windows rolled down going 60MPH.

All of my cars since then have had air conditioning. Now and then I think about rolling down the windows and turning off the A/C so I can suffer. Then I remember that I am not a “get off my lawn”, back when I was a kid, old man.

Not yet at least. 😁
