Things that annoy me (5 Viewers)

He got 50.39% of the vote, when i did maths at school that was over half, these figures are from official, multiple, sources. Plus combining the other 2 candidates figures is meaningless, unless you really think the 146,137 people that voted for Curtis Sliwa would have voted for Andrew Cuomo?

As for 'moron', he arrived in the US in 1998 aged seven and became a citizen in 2018, then in 2025 he becomes mayor of th US largest city. Not bad for a 'moron', he speaks 7 languages and the President, from the meeting they had, thinks he is a great guy.......is he wrong?

All politicians make promises, the current President said the Ukraine war would end on day one and he would bring down prices. Not only in the US but politicans are alike all over the world, make lots of promises and hopefully they think they will deliver enough to survive. Such is life.

'Clueless as to how things actually work' - that seems to be a theme in US politics, one only has to point to the currrent president.

On federal funding, New York provides too much federal funding to the US government not to be listened too. Paying more than the 19 lowest paying states put together. It is where the 'money people' live and/or earn their wealth and we know money talks.

I do not think which invisible friend living in the sky he believes in makes him either good or bad. Something i always admired about the USA was I thought the US was built on what you did and how hard you work, people were given a chance and were judged on their achievement. So give him a chance. i admired this as the US seemed to be above the age old class system which the UK suffers from, where it mattered where you went to school, how you speak and what you parents did.
I believe in free speech, but not stupidity. As far I am concerned, the guy who won NY is a moron. He is anti semetic, funded by anti semites and is Anti American. IF the idiots and I say that in all favor, want to elect the guy, then they get what they get. I don't have to worry about it b/c I don't live there. What I worry about is the spread of this crap to the rest of America. Look at your London, I don't really think you are better off with the trend in your recent elections.

And as for New York, people are once again leaving and where do you think they are going - the "evil RED South". Amazing how that works, they pontificate about the backwards Southerners and Texans and where do they go first when the idiocy finally drives them out.........................................

Thanks to that election, home prices are on the rise again in Florida.

Spot on.

And my thoughts exactly; I don't live in NYC, so I could care less how it plays out, but what I don't want is this sort of rot spreading to the rest of the country.

And with my better half being Jewish, his anti Semetic attitude rubs me the wrong way, I could care less about his rise to become mayor of NYC and how he speaks 7 languages, he's anti Semetic, so fvck him.

Period.

End of story.

The worst part about all of this are the Jewish folks who vote for people like this. I have never been able to figure it out, that half of my family has a few that vote that way and when you ask them why, no explanation, they don't want to talk about it. My comment to them is how can you be an such an intelligent person and vote for an anti semite. I just dont get it.

33% of the NYC Jewish population voted for this moron; just beyond stunning, it defies logic.

George, you're a good guy. Take it easy.
Thanks very much; getting ready to get together with family today and friends tonight, I need his attitude/UK BS like a hole in the head.

Thanks for talking me in from the ledge, my first of many adult beverages today will be a toast to you.......................Happy Thanksgiving.

Happy Thanksgiving George. And to everyone on this Forum.

.......I can relate to George's frustration, the idea such a person holding openly anti-American views could become mayor of NY takes some serious adjustment, let alone the antisemitic rhetoric.

The chances of these type of 'changes' spreading across the US is a genuine concern. You only have to look at the likes of the UK and Europe to see the effects of the red/green alliance creeping through those populations. Its actually very scary and a direct threat to our western societies.

When I read statements 'about giving people a chance' I'm often reminded of the Russian revolution, Mao's rise in China, not to mention Franco in Spain, Mussolini and everyone's best mate Hitler.......as they say big things often start from humble beginnings and history has a nasty habit of repeating itself.

true words my friend, true words. This is exactly how things fall apart. Yes, those who ignore, it repeats. Unfortunately, you have just defined the iq of the voter.

I can envision Germans in the 1930's goose stepping around Berlin saying "Come on, go along with this Adolph fella, what's the worst thing that could happen".............

We have trust fund communists in the US. It must be a singular situation. That is because the rich, mostly white, college educated types are not affected by the views they espouse. So you get a Mamdani. The "good" news is that he can't be much worse than most of other US big city mayors. I do give Mamdani credit for being honest in espousing his views. Although I do not agree with most of them, I hope he is successful. I don't hope for failure like many of the liberals just because I might disagree with his methods. Let's see how it works out. If things in NYC improve, then good for him. If not, then shame on the voters.

I suspect that Mamani's new policies are likely to attract more deadbeats to NY while the silent majority move to other States, resulting in a decreased income for the city. Apparently he intends to match Childcare Worker wages to Teachers Salaries, Childcare workers are often underpaid, however they not doing the same job nor have the qualifications of a teacher, this act alone is a warning of whacky things to come IMO. I predict the 'Mamani Experiment' will fail, which will set back Socialist ideals in the US for some time.

Socialists in government love spending government money, AKA Tax Payers money, and when they run out, they borrow and up taxes, giving the money in handouts to those who they expect to vote for them and is quite happy to import them, but we all know that anyway.

People love free stuff until they realize that they are the ones paying for everyone else to have it all.

Very true......and then there are those in society who think money grows on trees and they're somehow 'owed' a living, opposed to actually having to go out and earn one.

The concerning issue is that this 'group' of leeches appear to be growing in number and stature in society and are being catered for, if not encouraged.

I knew the Walz/Harris ticket was doomed when Walz famously said "One man's socialism is another man's neighborliness"............you lost me right there you fruit loop.

For me it was his dancing around and making that prayer like gesture over and over like a fool. A complete phony. An unlikeable Tommy Boy.
