MAYBE...a "improved" version will be down the road from a different manufacturer.....;)

History is about to repeat itself..... but this time the Fw-190 will be in 1/30 scale and landing in England flown by...

THOMAS GUNN.....

I posted new photos of TG's Fw-190A-3 over on the Tom Gunn Miniatures section....

Now we can compair K&C's Fw, to TG's Fw.....what do you think.....

Indeed....K&C's looks rather cartoonish and TG's has a more true to real life style, IMHO....

I was just thinking how fantastic it is that TG is venturing into, WW II Warbirds.
I mean, we already know just how great their paint style is, judging from their now classic Paratroopers ranges and their continued efforts to bring us a full commitment to a subject series, I'm sure we'll see this same TG historical correct attention to details that we have all come to expect and be quite confident these standards will be passionately afforded to their Fw-190 release...

BLAH BLAH BLAH.i dont care if K+C made 1 with 5 wings and a jet engine or TGM had rotar blades im buying all 3 because im am just happy these 2 companys exist and are making GREAT products,especially planes 6 months ago who could afford a plane i couldn't now im going to have 2 British,1 American and 5 German planes and more to come plus the accessories this is a great time to be collecting and the potential for Dio,s is amazing just my 23 cents worth i cant wait for my FW190 and then the Desert 109 (Hopefully)thanks Andy + Co keep up the great work cobber.

Totally agree with you, whoever makes it. I am glad we are getting Planes.

Michael, thanks for the heads-up mate, I am sure most of us had some doubts about a "special arrangement" between TGM and Ixec, now it seems proven.
 
I think from what I see and, for what its worth its the manner of the posts and the subtle manner in which things about TG are being said in such a way that one can read negativity into it. I said earlier I bet AC is not at all bothered about other planes coming out as he will sell all 750 and make profit on them as he originally intended.

TG will be cheaper thats a given but, maybe as a marketing and PR stance TG should do his own stuff on here and, not use what is obviously, his US mouth piece or, inform him that all he seems to be doing is winding up a lot of collectors whose alliance is with the 'big' player in the market and, in the long run a new and thriving business in a hard market should tone it appropriately.

I am sure we would not have had such a discussion if it was posted 'hey guys for all those who either will not because of numbers or, indeed, price not be able to get a K&C FW I can tell you TG will be releasing 300 in two colour formats in the near future.

No obfuscation in that annnouncement and no problems just another comapany wanting to make money by offering products to collectors.

The rest is just plainly childish and a major distraction and bore for collectors

This is the kind of thread where you can leave it for a day or two and come back to find it at the same place 3 pages later.:rolleyes: Any rational collector will base his choices on how well each aircraft is made and how its level of accuracy or general appearance and cost fits his preferences. The thread started with a set of perfectly fair questions about certain errors in detail and its title is in that regard justified. How that relates to questions of the motivations of the member who started it is just plain silly since those questions are simple fact. How that information is used by those considering buying it or any alternative is entirely up to each individual but pointing it out is hardly confrontational. As for the opinion related "noise", well as they say, everyone has one so if you express yours, why should they not express theirs.:) I leave you now to continue your quest against the windmills of "special arrangements" with all the "proof" you have amassed. God save Ireland.;)

When it comes to purchasing do many collectors actually take any notice of what one person says for or against?.If I like something it wouldn't matter if the Pope rang me and said 'Don't get the new Schlepp I don't like the tracks on it'!.I'd still be buying it.It matters not one iota if IXEC is a mole,undercover agent,spy, because (and no offence intended in any fashion IXEC) when I come to buy it I won't be thinking ' Now what would IXEC do '???.As in the same way as I wouldn't wonder what the bloke who lives six houses down from me would do,again no offence, but who cares what someone else thinks, buy what you like and would like to have in your collection.:cool:

Although having said all that I do normally get permission from James and Simon before I buy anything....just in case I have to give my wife the names of the guys who made me do it!;):D

I have eagerly read every post on here....this is well said and makes sense...nobody is going to talk me out of buying what "pushes my buttons"...I like what I like...reagrdless if anyone else approves it or not...

Good Keep all the blame for what you buy on your side of the Atlantic :p:D:D

James and Simon are perfect as scapegoats. :D



But one benefit of the debates dealing specifically with the models is that both manufacturers have improved their designs and what will come out will be better than what was first announced. :)

Not actually talking about debates Terry,nothing wrong with those at all.I'm talking about how it doesn't matter if one person is selling another producers product or not,we should buy just what we want.

Clearly discussions about details such as tail wheels, tracks etc will only be a concern to fussy collectors like me. Other less fussy collectors may be bored about such small details, but they are important to some.

Any arrangement is largely irrelevant, it's the fact that the arrangement was denied that is a concern to me (my last post on the subject).
