Getting ready to move. I have had 90 percent pf my collection boxed up for 4 years or more. It looks like we will be moving into a house where I can set up my 800 ACW plus soldiers!!! VERY EXCITED!!!! It will be a few months. When I start I will be posting pics!! AND asking questions!!

Congratulations mate; I am sure you must be extremely excited and I look forward to your photos. It sounds like you have a great collection.

Yes, although I still own a house in Columbia, TN. I also meet the bus in Hendersonville. (I sing for a living). Since I basically only go to work once a week, I can live anywhere I'm willing to commute from. We are looking at a lake house that my wife is going to give me the whole basement area to play in!!!
Sorry, probably more than you wanted to know!!!

Are you staying in Alabama?
Mark

I've been collecting for about 20 years. ( I do have figures from when I was a kid ,as well) I, however, had several years that I did not collect much. But over the past year I have probably purchased 200 or more troops, including houses, scenics and such. So my collection is closer to about 900 or so soldiers, I guess. Maybe more than that. I'm very excited!! WOW, I'm such a kid!!!

I just counted the troops I have set up in my up stairs room, sitting on dressers and a table. I counted right at 200 Conte, Britain, and misc. So my collection must be in the 1000-1400 troops or so. I started out painting plastic and moved on to painting metals and then collecting metals. So that is how it is such a large collection.

We are putting in an offer for a house where I can have the whole basement for my wargamming! So I can relate to how happy you must be!

I just moved all my stuff down to the basement, I now have a 25 X 12 room for all of my toys :D:D

Are you gonna set up a big table or a few smaller dioramas?

Probably have four 4x8 tables

one for Rorkes Drift
one for Isandlwana
one for my ceremonial London display
one for the Delhi Durbar

also have to fit in my books and my train layout and my model farm and maybe a few cases for displaying odds and ends that don't fit in anywhere else.

MAN, THAT SOUND FUN!!!! Do you just use plywood and build the landscape on top of it?

I will probably set up a 12 x 24 or so, maybe larger, of all my ACW troops. That is my battlefield. Then a smaller 2 x 4???? table of a Union camp scene. Then a Confederate or Union hospital set on the same size area. In all, it will take me a long time to do it. BUT I CANNOT WAIT. My 13 year old and my 11 year old is also chomping at the bits!!!

Not sure what I plan to do yet as I just moved to the basement. Lots of planning and sorting out to be done.

Whatever you two do in your newly acquired basements, I know I look forward to seeing everything . . .
:) Mike

Well done Scott and Bama Boy

Sounds like there will be some great display pictures headed our way after you have the fun of setting up your dioramas:cool::cool::cool:

Cheers

My display will not be to your level. You are out of my league, for sure.

Look fwd to seeing your creations. Especially that stretcher set you acquired. :D The planning, dreaming are really part of the fun! I'm collecting Britains ACW to make an artillery dio and more. Can't wait to see what comes out next year.

The soldiers are getting ready to leave their camp (boxes) for the first time in 4 1/2 YEARS!!!!

I sure they are rested and ready for a FIGHT!!! I sure hope that sickness hasn't hit them to hard!! Is so, I am pretty good with glue and paint!!!
