Pls. recommend large/best online stores of toy soldiers

Cannot beat the Frog. Consistently excellent through a couple of ownership changes. Julie is great, as Shannon was before her.

Question for collectors, Which do you belive in more?

I have been waiting over a year for some of the Clash of Empire figures that I pre-ordered :(. Still, I think WB has upped their game in terms of the quality of what they produce, but in the future I will only purchase items that actually exist. Mike

    I got a Golden Ticket!

I purchased three sets of the 60th Regiment of Foot skirmishing, and one of them contained a Golden Ticket. So now I have some woodland Indians to skirmish with them. What a generous promotion! http://www.treefrogtreasures.com/images/Product/medium/CAN-04B.jpg Mike

    W. Britains World HQ

My wife and I visited on August 26 and also got the "executive tour" from Ken, Erika, and Ted. I don't know how they can continue to be productive if they devote so much time to each visitor. Sooner or later I am sure they will have to lock the door! ^&grin Mike

Will more FIW 60th Foot be released ?

How very disappointing. :( John Jenkins has 60th regiment figures, but I do not like them as much. I think Ken Osen told me that he was thinking of producing figures of this regiment, but don't quote me on that. Mike

More “Who are those guys?”—ID puzzle.

Ray, Thanks for the detective work. And now, I have two questions. First, is the figure that Brad found on Ebay in your catalogue? Second, would you be able to post pictures from the catalogue so we could see the other figures in this range? Mike

More “Who are those guys?”—ID puzzle.

There is lots of stuff on that site. I looked through quite a bit of it but did not find anything to match. Still, it was certainly worth a peek, and I did find the sources for some of the other figures I have. Thanks for the hint, Scott. Mike

Me too. I guess this is a better puzzle than I thought it would be. Anyway, thanks for your suggestions. Mike

What's next for Clash of Empires?

I agree that native American figures can fit both F&I and AWI themes. And the same figures could be used to populate two other empire clashes that fit between these major conflicts--Pontiac's Rebellion of 1763 and Lord Dunmore's War of 1774. I would especially like to see the Battle of Point...

More “Who are those guys?”—ID puzzle.

I was rummaging through some stuff I had not looked at for a few years, and I came across these medieval men-at-arms figures. They may have been my very first eBay purchase some fifteen or sixteen years ago. The weapons are missing, and so are the bases, but I still think they would look...

    The 2013 Indy Show

I go to Indy every year--it scratches my toy soldier itch between OTSNs. I loved the new site last year, and look forward to this year's event. What I like best is the intimate atmosphere. The show is small enough that I can get around to every dealer several times. See you all there.

    What paint do I use?

Turning to a different subject, what paint (or technique) would I use to simulate a mirror?

    Casting copies of K&C..etc

Great discussion! Now, here is another wrinkle on this question. Years ago Ron Barzso used to create metal versions of his Rogers Rangers and woodland Indian figures, and I have quite of few of them in my collection. I purchased them from Ron himself, or from collectors who had bought from...

Brad, Thanks for the information. I appreciate the help and will follow-up with Nevinsrip as you suggest. Mike

    Winsome Warriors

Does anyone have information about this manufacturer? I am particularly interested in castings from the Muskets and Mohawks series, centering on the French and Indian War. I have three of the Native American figures that I have painted, but would like to find more somewhere, somehow. (I am...

    Indy show in March!!!

It's a good thing I logged in to this thread--I have been going to the Indy show for years and didn't know the site had changed. I guess I should have read Barry Carter's postcard:o I like this show because I don't feel I have to rush to get to see everything.

    Panoramas for Dioramas

I was in a hobby store recently that catered to train officianados and saw some panoramas that measured 38 inches long and 13 inches high. Many had city scenes, but there were some with only natural background, and some with clouds only. They sell for about $12.00 each. Here is the link for...

    Conte Wish Lish

Thanks for the update. I had not looked at the Conte site for awhile and you are right--there are "single color" sets (what I called unpainted, but in fact they have a base coat) of Alamo defenders, Civil War figures, Normans, Vikings and World War II available. Still no AWI or Rogers' Rangers...
