I bought this set on eBay. The description said it was manufactured in Moscow, Russia by a company called Mosdec. Set of 9 - 1806 Yakut Musketeers.
Does anyone know more about the set or the manufacturer? I haven't been able to find any information on the web.
Ericka,
Judging by your initial post and subsequent photo your home sounds like a fascinating, lovely place to live.
The set in your photo is my favorite from the current catalog. I hope to have one "taking aim" in my house shortly.

Thanks for all the responses guys (and girl ;)). I've enjoyed reading through them all. Especially the ones that made me chuckle a little.
"artillery team taking aim at the china in the dining room" - I love it.
I kid about my wife, but she has always supported me with anything I have ever...
I think some of you can relate when I say my wife doesn't quite "get it" when it comes to our level of fascination with toy soldiers.
With a little "nudging" I managed to convince her to give me a membership to the Britains Club for Christmas. I was so excited when the membership package...
I agree the acting was fantastic and think Daniel Day Lewis will win the Best Actor award at the Oscars.
No Country for Old Men was a better movie overall. It is my favorite of the year also.
I just recently joined the Britain's club and am looking forward to receiving my first catalog. The new soldiers look fantastic, especially the "AWI British 6 Pound Gun and Crew" set Ken posted.

Pat,
Thank you for starting this thread and posting the photos from your collection. As usual, I'm impressed! I especially like the "Mounted Knights with Lances".
As for today's soldiers... Do you think "better sculpted" sometimes gets confused with more realistic? My taste tends to lean...
Not sure what year this set came out, but somebody must think this it is one of the best!

I'm looking to build some hanging wall display cases. Something that only sticks out 4 inches or so.
Does anybody know where I can find woodworking plans on the web or where I can buy glass shelves similar in size to what you would find in a medicine cabinet, (3" by 18" or similar?). I can only...
Hi Dave,
I've posted the same question a couple of times on this forum. You actually responded to my post back in 2006!

Anyway... as far as I know a good web reference doesn't exist. I use this site once in a while...
The soldiers without the boxes show off the soldiers nicely, but some boxes are almost as impressive as the soldiers. I would photograph them both ways if possible.
Thank you for posting them.
For me it's not about how many I can collect. Soldiers just look cooler in groups. The bigger the army the better! I think if I spread my collection around the house I wouldn't enjoy them as much.
If my "soldier room" was overloaded with soldiers I could see myself selling some to make room for...
