English Summer Looks To Ruin Another Game We Had A Chance Off Winning......

Sorry Wayne, it was Mr Broad who ruined your game not the weather mate:wink2:

Well played Australia, until the collapse you had looked much stronger this test.

Rob

Well done England you were obviously the better side in this series.

It has been quite a spell for British sport in general
The Lions pulled off a series victory for the first time in 16 years and now England have convincingly won the ASHES.
Well done all round.

stunning victory and, we were the better and stronger side throughout.

It has been a strange series. Twenty years from now people will read the scorecards and it will appear that two reasonably evenly matched teams slugged it out and the one that was slightly better or luckier emerged the winner. Yet those of us who have watched it will probably feel that in reality things were quite different. I cannot remember a series in which one side played so poorly yet in threeTests out of four entered the last few sessions with a realistic chance of winning. It is a strange game but at the end of the day England have won 3-0 and have done it with neutral umpires and a DRS system that was the same for both sides. Again though, it is possible for someone to say that the scoreline flatters England but just as possible for the person beside him to say the same about Australia. Very odd. I would not be surprised to see us reclaim the Ashes in Australia 3 - 0 but would be equally unsurprised to lose by the same margin. The concern is that the guys playing are indeed our best team. The cupboard is quite bare.

Mate i did say "Looks" was p****** down when i went to bed, well done(cough choke spew)ENGLAND on another win..................:smile2:

The problem with the team is its full of ALL Eastern states players..........................
Young Shaun Marsh should be at 3,his brother should be our all rounder (He won't break down every 3rd test) and Adam Voges should be in as well.
Why did bird play,Mitch Johnson would of been better than him.
If Smith Doesn't bowl why does he play he isn't just a batsmen..........................^&confuse^&confuse

Do agree with this. There were several time throughout the series that did not suggest 3-0 and there were also periods of domination for both sides. When Australia started batting yesterday they looked so good it looked like they would wrap it up without needing the extra day (Boycott said the same thing) and then wammo, back come England. I may be wrong in this as my memory can be like a bit of swiss cheese, but in decades past it seemed that not only would one team be far more dominant but that team totals were much bigger too. These days it always appears much close between Eng/Aus and that makes for some nail biting games. I also very much agree with Jack in that I would not be at all surprised at any outcome in December/Jan. On Australia's part they must fancy their chances on harder wickets, hotter weather and in front of home crowd, but England have gone out there and done it before and have a superb bowling attack right now. Either way I'm sure it'll be great Cricket as always.

What happens if the Windies ever reach greatness again, or god forbid the Kiwis learn to play, cricket goes round in a circle, Australia will win again and soon. But in the Ashes never give an inch it's just not cricket if you do. :wink2:{sm4}
Wayne.

"What happens if the Windies ever reach greatness again"

I don't think this will ever happen. The population is just too small and the islands/countries don't really get on. The culture has also shifted to reflect the US rather than the colonial father. The Windies became great because a lot of players sharpened their games in England. They also got lucky with an extroadinary generation of stars.

Australia has let its focus slip badly over the last few years. Twenty20 and cashed up football codes will make it ever harder to get and properly develop sufficient Test players.

Another big prob in the Windies is all the kids want to baskeballers.

One more game to go guys, we start tomorrow!:salute::

Nice! :salute::I bet your lads won't won't to lose 4-0 and ours will be trying to be the first to win 4-0 in years so it should be a good one!

What a great start! Well I'm off to bed and following the other games, I have no idea how things will stand at stumps.

For Watson to be remembered as a TEST cricketer, he needs a double-hundred today.

Do not bet the TS collection on it! I am staying up to watch just so that I can be disappointed and feel that I predicted it!
