2013 Ashes (1 Viewer)

Rain is forecast on and off for Sunday and Monday - our secret weapon! :wink2:^&grin

All those ' pundits' predicting a whitewash must be worried now, NEVER underestimate Australian spirit. As Jeff said maybe with rain coming in Monday we may get a draw......maybe.

Well, this is interesting now! Another 150 runs scored in no more than 40 overs and (weather permitting) there will be a result.

The weather will probably wreck this game and frankly Australia's poor play in the first two games ensured this would be England's Ashes but their disgraceful go slow in bowling overs on the 4th day leaves a bad taste in the mouth. How is it the umpires can stuff up so much by sticking to the letter of the law, yet let this sort of gamesmanship occur without a word?

We have been totally outplayed but have managed to get to the last day of two of the Tests pushing for a win ... unbelievable!

Well, well. Shame about the dropped catch but Pietersen was clearly out - his strange reaction and 'snicko' doing what hotspot couldn't. Australia's bowling has been excellent, less so their over rate. A tense afternoon ahead. It's good to be competative (or better!) again.

ENGLAND RETAIN THE ASHES!

Not the way we wanted to win it but the great British summer stepped in. However I do believe we out played Australia in the first two games and deserved this. :salute::

WELL PLAYED ENGLAND

As for Australia they played much better in this game and have also had some bad decisions in this series, but they do happen to all sides at some point.

Well played both sides and look forward to the last two games.

The morning after. Did I just see a tumbleweed blow across this thread?!

Where are my Australian friends this morning?? Come on guys, that's the thing with Cricket (and as an England fan I know this to be so true) you have to sing when you lose as well as when you win.:wink2:

We still have the prospect of two more great tests this summer.

Well we have won before because of the weather so there you go, but we saw the potential of this Aussie side so don't be surprised if you only told the Ashes for a short time.:wink2:
Wayne.

I would congratulate you but let's face it - you saved the world in 1940, but what have you done for us lately?

Hey Rob

Not sure that your lot out played us in the first game as either team could have won it. The second game your lot definitely smashed us but we were the better team in the last game. As Wayne (WA) sez, congrat's English summer! {sm4}

Tom

Didn't rain in the first two though did it chaps, you got beat fair and square. And you can't possibly say if it hadn't rained yesterday you would have definitely bowled us all out anyway? Man I didn't have you guys down as sore losers:wink2:^&grin

We've had the weather, South African batsmen, what next? Grass too green, clouds too white, too much cream in the scones at tea??:wink2:

I have never, ever been a sore loser. On occasion I have been an arrogant winner but never a sore loser.{sm4}
