2013 Ashes (1 Viewer)

There was Jack , the sun shone and we played well.......the worlds gone mad!:wink2:

Australians tend to be very critical of people who take sport too seriously. As a people, we have never lost sight of the fact that there are more important things in life than sporting victories. If we ever win at anything again I will prove it to you.

The second test is over and England has won it but we can pray for a lot of rain and maybe maybe if we are lucky a draw. Chris.{sm2}

Should never underestimate Australia Chris, always dangerous. But the rain isn't going to happen I think. We are in middle of heatwave ....in July....who knew!!

Rob

Don't want rain lets keep playing funnier things have happened,we can only get better (I hope).

The way the first two tests have gone so far there is no way you can say how the rest of this test and series will go. Both teams have had brilliant and poor performances alike. What makes me quite annoyed is that as soon as we have a good performance as yesterday we get ' pundits' asking have we won the ashes??!!! Frick me there are still three and a half tests to go yet!!! Do these people think even IF we win this one the Australian players will be packing their bags and heading home for a few weeks hols?!! The VERY LAST THING to do is get complacent or underestimate Australia.

We got to go out there and win every game we can.

Rob, whilst it is appreciated that you are trying to be nice, Australia is simply pathetic.

Kind words may need to be directed to all the people that have tickets for the fifth day of all the ensuring Test Matches, they indeed need our sympathises!

Cheers

Scott

This has been such a disappointment after the first test. Australia's batting was a disgrace. Watson looks more and more like a self-centered pretender (though his 'appeal' of his LBW was prompted by Rogers apparently). Again, our bowlers have been good but it hasn't compensated this time. There's no one better available either. England to win by 300 runs I think.

I must say for those of us used to being at the receiving end of some of the great Australian teams of the recent past it is a bit disconcerting watching such a poor display with the bat.

You may well be right there Scott! What a day for England and what a superb innings from Joe Root. To lead Australia by 566 is simply jaw dropping stuff{eek3}

Well played ENGLAND

Rob

I hate saying this, but for sale: one Australian Cricket Team, batting part of the team going "real" cheap! :rolleyes2:

Tom

3-36... we did better in the first innings. 'How did it come to this?'

A poor result indeed, but if this team with all its talent clicks at the same time look out. Eight tests to go.... I live in hope.:rolleyes2:
Wayne.

WELL DONE ENGLAND:salute:::salute::

Superb victory for us in this game, last time we scraped home by just 15 runs but to win by 347 with a day to spare is a remarkable victory. Well done lads. Still a loooong way to go but we are now in a good position with Australia now needing to win all three to take Ashes home for December whilst we need only draw one match to hold onto them.

Big shout out for Joe Root, surely man of the match with 180 runs and two wickets:salute:::salute::

"Australia now needing to win all three to take Ashes"

We've done it before. But it was in Australia, about 80 years ago and we had Bradman (who I think got three hundreds, including two doubles). England is giving us a test cricket lesson. We're proving to be very slow learners though.....

To many NSWelshmen in the team,Young Marsh should be at #3.
We will never be a great team if the selectors don't look AUSTRALIA wide for players not just the eastern seaboard.

Now we have Clarkey mate....................:wink2:

Wow things don't look good for England
Time for that great English batsman Kevin Pietersen to show us what he is made of.
