UK extends their loss streak to Florida, now 29 games. :redface2: Chris

Never expected Ole Miss to beat The Tide in Tusk-a-loose-ah or Stanford to take apart USC. A week o' surprises. -- Al

Northwestern's defensive effort against Stanford is looking better and better! For the rest of this year I'm a major Cardinal fan :)

Stanford played a flawless game against SC. Dominated the line, time of possession, no turnovers, converted third downs. SC helped by sitting back and giving Hogan all day to throw. Brutal game plan by Sark. Played to all Stanford's strengths. At least Bama lost. I always like to see Lame Kiffin exposed.

I watched that whole Bama game and came away with the conclusion that The Football Gods were all betting on Ole Miss. Never seen a team try so hard to lose as Bama (5 turnovers) and still have a chance to win with a final possession. Ole Miss needs to count it's blessings. -- Al

Disastrous week with the picks last week. Most of the top 20 action is out west this week.

Michigan 27 BYU 24 - Harblow already has UM playing better. At home they should pull a minor upset.

Arizona 30 UCLA 24 - UCLA's freshman QB goes on the road for the first time.

Oregon 47 Utah 28 - tough week to head into Duck country after the tough MSU loss.

USC 38 ASU 34 - Sark needs to get liquored up if coaching sober last week was any example. Must win for Kiffin Jr.

USNA continues to play good football as they beat UConn 28-18 to run their record to 3-0. My Terps, on the other hand, played their usual awful game against UWV. Stayed in the game until 9:42 of the 1st quarter and then it was all over as UWV scored 3 Td's to lead 21-0 after the 1st and won 45-6. Terps looked terrible on both sides of the ball. And they could sure use a QB.:rolleyes2: I have a bad feeling about this season for UMd in the Big 10.{sm2} -- Al

The Ducks got ripped at home. The Utes put a major beat down on them. At least my Trojans bounced back this week. They put a spanking on ASU. NW is looking better each week with Stanford bouncing back and Duke beating GA Tech this weekend.

U of Kentucky beats #25 Missouri to go 3-1. Best start since 07 in a program of perpetual re-building. Inducted QB Lorenzen into KY sports HOF. Had 6 NCAA QB records, some of which still stand, while at UK and NEVER went to a bowl game. :rolleyes2:

Nothing to say on the WVA loss by the Terps. :redface2: Chris

Most of the action moves down South this week. Should be some interesting games on the east coast with a major rain storm bearing down on Saturday. The picks:

Oklahoma 47 WVA 44 - a shootout. Taking Oklahoma only because they are home.

Alabama 30 Georgia 24 - Bama is under performing. I like the odds that they bounce back and play a good one against the higher ranked Dogs even on the road.

Ole Miss 49 Florida 17 - miracle comeback by a mediocre Gators team last week used up all their karma. I see a beatdown coming.

Clemson 37 ND 24 - the Irish are killing me with my picks. I think they go down this week in a tough road game.

UK beats EKU in overtime. Now 4-1. :smile2:

ALabama makes GA look silly and Florida stomps Ol' Miss.

Nothing to say on the MD 28-0 loss to Michigan. :redface2:
Chris

Middies win again, taking out Air Force. Still undefeated at 4-0 with Notre Dame next. Terps looked pretty decent, defensively, against Michigan. Unfortunately, the UMd offense continues to be so bad that it really defies description. Can't gain yards, can't score, can't hold onto the ball. It's just a disgrace. Edsall looks lost for a solution. A distinct possibility that the Terps won't win another game this season. #1 OSU next.:rolleyes2: -- Al

Four of the top eight teams went down this week. A couple got crushed at home. College football is a strange game. ASU got run out of their stadium last week against USC. This week they go into the Rose Bowl and close out #7 UCLA. Night and day performance. Al- I tried to watch the MD game but between the rain and the Terps offense (not to mention the typical Jim Harblow grind it out game) it was real ugly. MD had a chance if they had any offense whatsoever but they had absolutely nothing. They got stoned by the UM defense.

It goes beyond the UM defense, the UMd offense is just terrible. Their QB play is a bad joke and looking at their schedule, perhaps multiple forfeits are in order...:rolleyes2: -- Al

It seems that UMd's terrible start has cost Randy Edsall his job. He is the coach for this weekend's game against #1 OSU, but rumor has it he is history after the game. Alumni not happy with the way the program is going and the players have reportedly tuned him out at this point. Gee, couldn't see this coming.:rolleyes2: -- Al

I think USC won't be far behind UMD in making a decision on its coach after Sark laid another big egg against the Huskies last night. One of the worst performances I've had the misfortune to see as a USC fan. Completely inept.

Sure...Northwestern finally has a premier game against a ranked team and Combat falls down on the job of making his weekly picks!

I'd better fill in:

Northwestern 13 Michigan 10 - A battle of two strong defenses against two weak offenses. Michigan is getting love because they are Michigan. Yes, I'm a homer!

Ohio State 100 Maryland 2 - OSU's long snapper will score the only points for Maryland by hiking it over the punter's head through the end zone. Oh wait, that would imply that Maryland stopped the OSU offense...

Navy 21 Notre Dame 17 - The Golden Domers, fresh off a loss, will come out flat and lay an egg against the undefeated Midshipmen.

Cal 28 Utah 21 - Let's continue the trend of top teams getting picked off

Nice job on short notice, keeping the humor going too is important.

Come on Doug, I look forward to your picks every week; if you are out, it will be a new segment here on TFT, "Pete's picks"...........has a nice ring to it, or, "Padre Pete's picks" is ever better, or triple P for short...........

I'm recovering from a disastrous week for LA teams. USC laid an egg, the Kings got destroyed in their first two games and the Dodgers did their usual choke job. But I'm going to rally:

Michigan 24 NW 17 - should be an ugly and close game but Harblow at home in the big house gets it done. I hope I'm wrong though.

Utah 31 Cal 28 - best game of the day. The Utes have over performed but they have all those blond coeds in the stands. So that will be the difference.

Oklahoma 50 Texas 10 - karma is catching up with the Lowhorns for that Rose Bowl win against USC.

Tennessee 30 Georgia 24 - TN has choked away every big game for a decade so they are due.

My big game is NAVY Midshipmen [4-0] ... at ... (15) Notre Dame Fighting Irish [4-1]
GO NAVY beat ..... er .... Irish!
