thanks for the update Julie, don't forget to put aside 1 ticket for me once the show once they go on sale if you can...Sammy

OK fellas, quick question....do most of the sellers/businesses at the show take credit cards or it wise to bring cash as well???...Sammy

It's a bit of a mix, but most deal in cash and checks. I usually bring some cash and a small pile of checks (and it's always scary when i come home with no extras!)

My flight and hotel are booked!!!! Can't wait

Thanks for the info Zach, I'm booked and ready, flying in Friday morn until Monday morn so I can catch the big show on Sunday as well...Sammy

Well, unfortunately for me, it became official today that I can't make it to the Chicago Show this year :(
I had three days worth of overtime credit hours saved and planned to use them for the Thursday, Friday and Monday around the show weekend.
But now some "important" upcoming stuff at work got scheduled just around that time, second half of September until mid October.

It's somewhat disappointing, but can't help it. While I won't be missing out on any Toy Soldiers, "the stuff I currently collect/buy, I can get that any time from my dealer online", I will sure miss meeting some people at the show.
There are many, but I only want to mention two in particular, and they are Pat "wadepat" and John "Leadmen". Every time I had the most fun and relaxed times during several shows with those two guys.

I hope that all attendants, collectors, mfrs. and dealers will have a jolly good ol' time :wink2:
Good sales for the dealers, good finds for the collectors, and good, successful presentations for the mfrs.

And then, of course, all have the best of times in the after hours, evenings get-togethers ^&grin

I know it will be fun.

Whoever has the ability, time and camera with him, keep us in the loop about what was going on at this year's show.

Cheers!

Konrad

Sorry we won't be seeing you! Who will chaperone me across the parking lot now?!?!? {sm3}

Yeah, sorry to hear that, who's going to help me get overserved at the bar Friday night now?

If I were you, I'd bring about 5 grand in cash; you know, just in case you see anything that trips your trigger in rooms 5340, 5342 and 5344..........:wink2:

I am also out this year, my youngest granddaughter turns one and we are celebrating that weekend. The only thing that can trump this hobby and the ACW is the world's cutest (in my opinion) about to be one year old granddaughter. I will definitely make it next year. All the best. Chris

I'm probably out as well. I've developed plantar fasciitis, which means I need to stay off my feet as much as possible. Walking around would not help it.

Brad,
Sorry to hear that, I hope you are doing ok, will obviously miss seeing you.

Brad,
Sorry to hear that, I had that about two years ago. Stick to the exercises they tell you to do and keep stretching it out, it will go away eventually. Mine did after about 6 months or so. Also, get a few pairs of the insoles they sell at the pharmacy specifically designed for that condition, you'll thank me later............

George,

Have them. Started physical therapy on Monday. Need to get some new sneakers this weekend. Also have some stretching I need to do. I will keep my reservations and hope for the best.

Hi Konrad,

You will be sorely missed by John and myself as well as many, many others. The show will not seem the same without you present.

Warmest personal regards,

Pat
