2017 Baseball Season: Let's Play Two! (2 Viewers)

A deeper look inside the numbers only makes things worse for Bumgarner. In his 3 losses the Giants have scored 2 runs. So even if he had pitched 3 shutouts he would only be 2-0 with a no decision.

Ouch.
Let's just hope this isn't Bums year to be THAT pitcher, the one who pitches well but gets no run support. Hopefully, the Giants can get the man some runs to work with. -- Al

Al:

The Giants do seem to be hitting, but the hits are not timely. They also need to get into scoring position. I wish we had a guy like Harper (then again, who doesn't) who is and of himself a scoring machine but we don't. Bochy might need to start stealing bases etc. in order to "manufacture" a few runs.

Miley threw a beaut tonight, probably the best game of the year for the O's starting staff. He didn't get a decision after allowing 2 hits, 1 run, and fanning 11, but he made the 2-1 win possible. Two good starts in a row for him, and uBADo last night, something in the water in Cinncy. I like it. -- Al

What in the H......????? Ubaldo\Miley back to back 2 hitters!!??{eek3}....Playing a solid Reds team in NL rules I think the O's played a great series, some times the 3 run homer are great but man I'll take some good pitching any day!!!

When I watch the Reds and Orioles' highlights I expect to see Earl Weaver in the dugout and Johnny Bench behind the plate.

Ah, the glorious past. That's no worse than me watching the Giants and expecting Marichal, McCovey, and Mays to be on the field. :wink2:^&grin Those Giants of the 60's were my favorite teams, ever. -- Al

Actually Al, he has pitched really well in all 3 starts so far, Miley may be the goat for the 2017 Orioles, as in every year you get one pitcher that can't seem to get any offense to produce for him when he's pitching, if he continues to pitch like he has so far, the O's may have just found their 4th rotation starter.

Could be, Sammy. Just discussed non-support with Jason in regards to SF's Bumgarner. He's 0-3 and they've scored 2 runs for him. Hope Miley can get more support than that. I'd love to see Miley pitch well and help anchor the rotation, but I have no confidence that uBADo can continue his run. He is just too inconsistent. Still, I won't complain if he proves me wrong. -- Al

Glory days is a great way to describe it. Don't get me wrong, I still like today's game but somehow it isn't the same as it used to be.

With the Nats coming in, from the Mets perspective this is not a good time to face the Nats: Céspedes and Duda are hurt, Reyes and Grsnderson still think they're in Florida and the bullpen is a mess. From the Nats perspective, they are hitting on all cylinders and this is a great time to play the Mets!

Which of course means Hardy will throw a no-hitter tonight as a prelude to a Mets sweep.{sm2} -- Al

I will be happy to win one!

Things seemed to recently go south when they played that 16 inning game last Thursday. It definitely took a lot out of the bullpen and they haven't recovered.

And the "hits" for the Giants just keep coming, Bumgarner is now going on the DL for 6-8 weeks due to a dirt biking accident.

Well, that's a bite in the butt. Not the brightest move to pull during the season. -- Al

Doh! Obviously, I meant Harvey. Oliver Hardy doesn't play anymore.:rolleyes2: -- Al

Didn't Jim Lonborg do something like that in 1968 (although that might have been skiing). At any rate, people have to live their life.

Yes he did, and I believe it was skiing. He hurt himself after winning 22 games in '67, winning only 6 in '68. He never regained his form in Boston and was traded to Philly after the '71 season. He went on to be successful with the Phillies. -- Al

Bundy is really looking good so far this season. Now 3-1 with a 1.37 ERA. The whole starting staff is looking good recently. Gausman needs to hit his groove and we need to get Tillman back. Things looking good from the mound. -- Al

Might be some interesting pitches in the O's, Sox game tonight, as it seems Machado took a hard slide into 2nd base last night injuring the Sox player (very unintentional from the video) but Sox coach didn't like it one bit so wouldn't be surprised to see Machado hit\brushback pitched to in today's game.
