2018 Baseball season (1 Viewer)

Starting out like one of those bad luck seasons for Dylan Bundy that every pitcher seems to have at least once in a career, one of those seasons where the pitcher does well but just can't buy a win for his efforts. Tonight, Bundy pitched his 3rd QS of the season (in 3 starts) and took the loss, making him 0-1 on the season, with a 1.35 ERA. He pitches well and gets no support. He has established himself as the current ace of the O's. Hope his luck changes. -- Al

Mad Max was at his best tonight, throwing a CG, 2-hit shutout at the Braves. He fanned 10 and retired the last 15 batters in a row in the 2-0 win. -- Al

Tonight the Gashouse Gorillas come to Fenway, led by Quasimodo and Mongo, the latter is the proud owner of TWENTY strike outs so far this year.

Keeping those two stooges bats quiet for three more days would be nice, we'll see.

His Father King Kong is very proud regardless.

Score checks....looks like Brady must be playing QB for the Sox....14 already!!???? Dude........

Red Sox better save some runs for tomorrow. Wonder if Debbie Boone was there tonight instead of Aaron and he was singing You Light up My Life.

O's got another QS tonight, and once again couldn't score to take advantage, losing 2-1. The O's have averaged 2 runs per game in their losses and only 3.25 per game overall. They need to get the bats going while their pitching is going well. -- Al

True dat; more often than not, when a team lights up another team, their bats go silent the next night.

Hopefully that won't happen........................regardless, I'll take it, 14-1 is still 14-1.

First time I've seen Mongo in a MFY uniform; does he always swing like he's chopping down a tree? Very awkward, unorthodox swing, like he's trying to hit every ball nine miles.

Quasimodo, on the other hand, has a very fluid swing; he's a monster height wise and his swing is very long, but to his credit, it's a sweet swing.

Maybe he can give mongo a few pointers........................

The Giants' pitching staff took another hit as Cueto just went on the DL. He joins Bumgarner, Samardzija and Melancon.

I hope the fill-ins can hold their own until some of these guys get healthy.

Good grief. That's 60% of the SP staff and the closer. Who did the SF Giants tick off, in the name of the baseball Gods? -- Al

Only 974 people showed up for a White Sox game this week. I'm assuming they are not doing too well. Pictures of the empty stadium were pretty amazing.

When the playing conditions resemble the landscape in the series "The Terror", who can blame them, the crowd shots at the RS/MFY game last night looked like that of a Patriots game in December, not a RS game in April.

The owners need to shave two weeks off the season and cut the schedule down to 140 games; add two more playoff teams as we all know it's all about money and they don't want to give up the revenue.

I was offered tickets to the RS/MFY game last night; they were free, I said thanks but no thanks, they were up on the green monster and I wouldn't want to be up on that wall in artic conditions, I don't think the first aid stations at the ballpark have personnel on hand who know how to properly treat frostbite.

Yes, a shorter season in almost every sport would be a huge improvement but it's never going to happen because of the money. The length of baseball season is ridiculous. I would also cut the games down to seven innings to speed them up and adopt some rule that limits subs in the playoffs. It became ridiculous last year with the endless pitching changes after the fifth inning.

I guess I am in the minority, but I like the length of the games.

Then again, I watch/listen to them while I work and since my workload is never-ending, the games finish before my work does!

140 games? You’re dreaming. Before expansion in 1960, the season was 154 games, and they’re not going back to that. The length of the season is fine although the games could be a little shorter.

"Before expansion in 1960, the season was 154 games, and they’re not going back to that.........".......right, because as Doug said, it's all about money, they don't give a **** about the fans or their comfort, or lack of it freezing their ***** off watching the games.

Price got shelled in the first inning, Mongo hit one into the farthest part of the park for triple, then the corpse of Sanchez hit a bomb over the wall.

Great; two guys who's bats are dead are now heating up..........................4-1 now as Ramirez hit an absolute rocket off of Tanaka...................what a bomb. Here comes Gardner and his bulbous head; his dome looks like a flesh colored 55 gallon drum..................

To paraphrase Lenin, I think the fans are voting with their feet. I eyeballed a couple of games tonight in Baltimore and Philly and the stands are 50-75% empty.
