2018 Baseball season (1 Viewer)

I'm not a Houston Texan's fan...but I do like to watch him wreak havoc on QB's...his brother is following in his foot steps as a terror in the sack department...

George...

I wouldn't disagree...
in fact the only ones that probably would...
would be Piston's fans...
drunk fans are bolstered with courage when surrounded by friends and some distance between their target...
mob mentality...

what you call "beer muscles" is what I mean when I call someone an Internet bully...
it's easy to say something when you're not face to face...

the guy that actually threw the beer that hit Artest...
he was standing next to the guy that Artest jumped on...
Artest had the wrong guy...

the guy that threw the beer...
he had a long record...burglary...several DUI's...assault...
he was a thug...
got a lifetime ban from the Palace and served some time...

as strange a guy as Metta World was...
they actually became friends after the incident...

I remember Dwight Howard inviting a guy that threw a beer on him to come back to the dressing room...
that guy almost pooped his pants...

I just watched that brawl again on YouTube; those Piston fans were all class...……….people were ordering hot dogs, bags of peanuts and drinks to throw at the Pacer players as they went up the tunnel out of the arena, they spent about a thousand bucks on food and beverages just to throw at the players...………….:wink2:

What morons...………………..

Brewers win in another nail-biter and lead 2-1 in games. Been good baseball games to watch for those without an emotional investment. ^&grin -- Al

I gather the Dodgers won last night although I doubt anyone on the east coast saw the ending. 13 innings, something like 16 pitchers, almost six hours long. It must have ended around 2AM. Good grief. I'm pulling for LA-Boston, but I can't see either LA or Milwaukee having much chance against the Red Sox. They are a machine right now. What is the story with the fan behind home plate in Milwaukee wearing the bright orange Marlins shirt? He must be the only Marlins fan who goes to baseball games given their woeful attendance figures.

I went to bed around 1245; couldn't keep my eyes open any longer. I woke up around 220 to go to the bathroom and the game was still on. If you lived in the west, it wasn't too late I suppose. I assume the 9pm eastern time start time was to allow the Red Sox game to end but I would have started the game at 8. Of course, the advertisers wouldn't have been happy.

Getting back to the game, I see Manny channeled his inner Arod by tripping Aguilar. Although it's not clear if it was intentional, he has a history of dirty base running so he's not entitled to the benefit of the doubt.

I made it to 1:45 am but still missed the end. Saw the Machado play where he dragged his foot to cause the collision at first base and it sure looked deliberate to me. Thought it a cheap shot by Machado. Been a terrific series so far but can't make it with the late starts. -- Al

Agree Al, as much as I like Machado that was pretty dirty....got a feeling a "inside" fast ball coming his way.

That play probably won't matter to anybody willing to sign him, like the Yankees or the Phillies.

That's Marlins Man, he goes to all the high profile games, do a google on him; to me, he's nothing but an attention @#$%^, "Hey everyone, look at me at all the high profile games"...……..yeah good for you...…………...

They were discussing some interesting stats last night. The Dodgers had not won a game without hitting a home run since mid-August. There were more strikeouts than hits this season. Lowest batting averages since 1972. A weird year.

Per the Bleacher Report:

"The .248 MLB batting average is the lowest since 1972, the season before the American League instituted the designated hitter, when it was .244."

I certainly noticed more strikeouts this year but I had no idea it was that bad.

The O's Chris Davis accounted for at least half of all the strikeouts!!!! ;)

Maybe MLB will institute the DH in the National League, they might also ban gloves to create more offense, oh wait, that is the NFL way of doing things.

It wouldn't be the end of the world if the NL instituted the DH but I hope they don't; I like my league the way it is.

Someone should clue the Astros and Sox pitchers in on the definition of a 'shut down' inning.:rolleyes2: -- Al

Boston looks unstoppable but Kimbrel insists on keeping things interesting.:rolleyes2: -- Al

Went to bed at 12 but read about his adventures this morning. He's going to eventually cost them.

Despite our heart attack closer, that was a game for the ages last night.

What a win.

Easily in the top ten of dramatic Red Sox playoff games in my lifetime.

And TBS and Sheffield need to stop about the non home run; the fan/fans clearly had their hands over the wall, interfered with Betts and his ability to catch that ball, he had it if whoever the fan was who clanged into his glove was that caused the glove to close as the ball got there.

Joe West got the call right on the field.

Just like Bellhorne's home run in game 6 of the 2004 ALCS.
Just like A-Roid slapping the ball out of Arroyo's hand in game 6 of the 2004 ALCS.

Tough task tonight with no Sale due his stomach flu aftereffects going up against their ace; bullpen game tonight for sure.

Regardless, win it tonight, I don't want it coming down to a game 7 even if it is at home.

Take this thing home fellas.

What a team.

For me the highlight of the night was the broadcasters talking about the Astros reliever James and how he was some minor league scrub until he figured out he had sleep apnea and started using a CPAP machine; it magically added 12 MP to his fastball, he went from 90 to 102.

Yeah sure, it was the CPAP machine that did it...……...:rolleyes2:

The mind reels.
