2019 Baseball season (2 Viewers)

I think the home team. It was a 6pm start time, rather a strange time. It’s not like it’s a time designed to get more fans to show up since about 7,000 fans were there and 80% of them were Mets fans.

Bruce Bochy got a standing ovation at the start of today's Giant's home opener (in a class move the visiting Tampa players also applauded).

It was all over after that. Tampa Bay scored 4 runs in the 1st and never looked back.

I am trying to stay positive early in the season but this team is averaging 5 hits per game and Bumgarner is tied for second on the team in home runs with 1.

After today’s game, where neither bullpen distinguished themselves, Al must fit to be tied. I’m sure I’d be cursing had it been otherwise. At this rate, both teams are going to wear out their pens.

The Giants scored 6 runs on Saturday and 0 on Sunday.

I guess I should get used to that.

Strange stat for the day that is no surprise:

The Dodgers have hit 24 homers in 10 games, including at least one in each game. By comparison, the Giants have scored only 25 runs this season.

Astros just finished a nice home stand tonight...
6 games won in a 2 series sweeps...
1st time in their history to sweep the Yankees...
went from 2-5...
to 8-5...

Altuve is hitting the cover off the ball right now.

Jason...
he is really getting good contact lately...
4 home runs in the last 5 games...
I'm amazed at his power for such a little guy...

I know size isn't everything...
I watch these small golfers that can crush the ball a mile...
torque...hand speed...etc...
a combination of a lot of factors...

the whole team is hitting well right now...
2 grand slams last night with another solo...

Seattle pulled out to such an early lead this year...
they started out 13-2...
Astro's also in the AL West were 2-5...
in last place two weeks ago...
they are crawling up in the standings...

Verlander and Cole have the next 2 starts...
I hope they win the series with Seattle to close the gap a little more...

really missing Morton and Keuchel...
but the new rotation is doing pretty good...

Chris Davis finally got a hit after going 0 for 54. I hope the hits start dropping in for him.He needs some luck that's for sure.
Mark

big win against West's first place Seattle tonight by JVL to extend streak to 8 games...
a long 6 innings where he only gave up 1 run on 2 hits after 105 pitches...
Altuve got another HR...
5 in his last 5 games...
it's hard for me to understand how a minute 5'6"...165 lb. guy has that much power...
Cole is starting tomorrow...
would love to see 9 in a row...

Davis has shown a ton of heart and class during his hit less streak. He hasn't made any excuses or blamed anyone but himself.

Honestly, sports needs more of that type of attitude.

Tons of rumors swirling around a Bumgarner trade in the Bay Area today. I am not sure if there is much to it but the story is that the Phillies seem to want him now as opposed to waiting until the trade deadline.

More bat flipping and a retaliatory hit by pitch in yesterday's White Sox Royals game.

I wish both sides would just play the game but that is never going to happen.

Well the last place Red Sox play the first place Doofin Rays in Tampa in front of I'm sure at least 19 diehard fans this weekend; if they get swept, their season is essentially over before Mothers Day. They'd be 6-16 and 12 games out of first.

Highest payroll in baseball, just pathetic. Mookie picked the wrong time to suck, he's hitting under .200 as free agency looms for him, he's looking for north of 35 million a year and has basically stated he does not want to resign with Boston.

He stunk for the majority of the playoffs last year too; adios Mookie...……………………….

At least you have a WS title in the bag. Even if they have a bad year, at least you had that.

Flags fly forever.

Hey, at least I'll be free to pursue other activities this Summer...………;)…………...

When the Giants' recent World Series run ended I thought I would just ride the wave of those championships forever.

I have started to realize that winning it all only made me hungrier for more. I actually craved the titles less when the Giants had not won it yet.
