Re: Seriously - Is CONTE Still in Business ?

I think that perhaps we should all thank Conte for taking a respite from the toy soldier manufacturing world. His sabbatical has allowed other manufacturers to flourish and the gaps he left were filled admirably by others. That house that was only 85% finished was completed by others, so in the end we are all better served.

disagree don't think any gaps have been filled ......gives me a chance to catch up ...the warehouse moving and unpacking has thrown up some very nice pieces that have filled gaps in my collection..and looking forward to picking up more of the older pieces.if you guys are looking for any hard to find pieces then email RC. He came across a load of stuff for me , previously retired stuff that were thought to be completely sold out... he came through with some of the early viking and spartan figures I couldn't find anywhere else including the elusive phalanx:cool::cool::cool::cool:

All depends on what you collect.

I too was able to fill in the gaps in my Conte Alamo collection. I now have almost everything by COnte on the Alamo but I am missing atleast 3 sets that I know of right now. But I will keep looking and hoping.:D:D:D

Re: Seriously - Is CONTE Still in Business ?

Which reminds me. If one plays nice with RC he will go out of his way to find stuff for you or at least keep an eye out for those items as they appear. Word of advice though; try not to make any crazy requests like Finnish Alpine Chasseur Bands in the blue uniforms.

Re: Seriously - Is CONTE Still in Business ?

I talked to RC this week and I am actually getting an order of much needed plastics!

Re: Seriously - Is CONTE Still in Business ?

Well, at least now we know of one confirmed dealer of Conte products.

Re: Seriously - Is CONTE Still in Business ?

Re: Seriously - Is CONTE Still in Business ?

I'm sure you'll agree Ed Matte's earned it.......The Lt.

He sure has Lt; Matt, like myself, has an opinion regarding Conte's products and unlike myself, was smart enough not to express it.

As a result, he's still a dealer.

That's what you meant, right Lt?

I've never heard an opinion from Matt on Conte George so it's not what I meant I just know dealing with him over the years he's earn it.....Joe

He is loading up all his brand new stuff for that HUGE toy soldier show in N. Carolina the weekend of 9-26. Anybody who is anybody in the toy soldier world will be there. Sorry I can,t make it but there is a small toy soldier gathering in Schaumburg, Ill. that very weekend and since it is closer to home I will attend that.
