SNOW . . . certainly a "four letter word"! First thing I got to do this New Years morning is remove about 4" of snow from my driveway, front sidewalk, and patio. Not my idea of a nice way to start 2019. This was our first serious snow for this winter. We have had a few "dustings" of less than an inch that Mother Nature took care of for me with the help of some pleasant temperatures. Oh well . . . tis the season.

HAPPY NEW YEAR everyone.

Our weather looks better for the next 10 days -- generally in the low 40s. That can't last, of course.

It's winter, and you live in Wisconsin. Be grateful that you didn't get a foot a week before Thanksgiving.

Prost!

Been there, done that Brad. We moved to Wisconsin in 1986 as a result of a job promotion the week before Thanksgiving. It started snowing heavily the day we arrived and by Christmas we had gotten a total of about 60 inches of snowfall. My wife wanted to know where in the world I had moved her to. It was fun in those days . . . I am 70 now and I no longer think its fun.

I saw they are getting a foot of snow in places in New Mexico and Arizona. So the winter misery is a shared experience.

Toronto's Medical Officer of Health has just issued an extreme cold weather alert for Toronto that will be in effect "until further notice"

The temperature with the windchill will go down to -24C tonight or -11F. {sm2}

We're going to get hammered this weekend, a very weird weather pattern...……...mild on Friday, getting colder on Saturday, snow Saturday night into Sunday morning, then warming up in the afternoon and changing to rain, then colder at night and back to snow...…………………...then single digit temperatures on Monday...…….wonderful.

Further up here in Maine it is predicted to be a "SNOWMAGEDDEN".

As of this morning the weather forecast, using the European Weather Model, is saying up here in the Mid-Coast we could be getting 18"-24".
The temps, with wind chill factored in is looking at -20 to -30 degrees F.

To reiterate George … WONDERFUL!{sm2}

The European model is always the most accurate one, they are still unsure on the totals here, we're near the coast, so we might get mostly rain according to the latest forecast, but that is subject to change every 12 seconds.

The worst part is how it's going to warm up Sunday late morning/afternoon, then a flash freeze will occur later at night, temps dropping like a stone, then Monday is going to be in the single digits.

What a mess regardless...…………….

The forecast here is still unclear. A couple of inches tonight and then a few more over the weekend. The net result is cold and misery. The Rams will probably lose on Sunday and that will round my weekend off.

Currently getting dumped on as I post this. Expecting 7" of snow tonight and into early tomorrow morning. Yeh . . . .

In the low 30's tonight in Texas, but don't worry, in about 60 days or so it will be on the 90's. Texas is the land of extremes.

And people wonder why real estate is so cheap here.

We are projected for 12-18 now!

First report earlier in the week for the Taunton (south coast of MA) was 3" to 5"
Then it changed to 4" to 8"
Then it changed to 8" to 12"
Then it changed to 3" to 6"
Then it changed to 2" to 4"

In the end last night, we got about 2", then it changed over to rain, it's currently monsooning out, most of the snow is already gone.

But hey, that didn't stop the panic at the supermarket yesterday, one lady bought enough food for a month because God forbid you're trapped in your house for a whole day due to snow.

I'm convinced the supermarkets have a deal with the weatherman to rile up the masses and whip them into a frenzy over snow, it's absolutely incredible how people panic over it...…………….
