Boston in 7..... Not to mention a great present for the city of Boston in light of the tragic Boston City marathon bombing. Go Boston.

This series is not over by any means. Remember last year the Cards were up 3 to 1 against SanFrancisco and lost. As Brad pointed out, momentum is as good as todays pitcher!

As I was driving home from my friends house last night (actually early this morning), my phone rang and I knew right away who it was, it was papa bear, I let him vent his spleen for about five minutes, then I calmly told him "They got this Dad, this isn't 1975, 1978 and Bucky @#$%^&* Dent or 2003 and Aaron @#$%^&* Boone, this is 2013 and these aren't YOUR Red Sox, they are MY Red Sox. They aren't losing the WS to the Cardinals and their National League the pitcher hits and you lose your DH nonsense, they got this."

That said, it really is annoying, I've said this 500 times how in the WS, you play with the rules the host teams league does, that is pure and utter @#$%****. Last night, no Napoli at first, so Ortiz is over there as you don't want his bat out of the line up with no DH, so naturally a low throw doesn't get dug out by him, which starts a two run inning for the Cardinals.

If the National League doesn't have the DH, then fine, let their pitchers hit in all 7 games and let the American League use the DH in all seven games. So simple, yet MLB such a joke they can't grasp this concept.

Last night Farrell overplayed the pinch hitting thing and put Gomes out there too soon; in the top of the 8th, he had to let the pitcher hit and it was good morning, good afternoon and good night, he would have been better off going up there with a log.

Such a joke, so annoying.

Wasn,t the DH introduced in the early 70,s as somewhat a gimmick because at the time baseball was losing it,s popularity from the heydays of the 50,s & 60,s?
Both leagues should either have it or not, not. And you are right George it really isn,t fair for the AL teams.
I feel like a hipocrit commenting on baseball as I gave up on the sport 20 years ago, but before that I was an avid fan of the game, so I do feel I am somewhat knowledgeable about the sport itself.

Have to agree with George, to a degree, on the DH thing. The DH does change the nature of the game to a certain degree and imparts a hitting advantage. Playing without the DH in the NL parks therefore imparts a distinct disadvantage to the AL teams. Rather than the current rule wear the home team's league rule applies, why not just make the DH universal in the WS? This would impart the advantage of the extra hitter to both leagues throughout the series, rather than the AL having to play at a disadvantage when in NL parks. I realize this takes the edge off National League style play but I believe the disadvantage that the hitting pitcher means to the AL justifies it. -- Al

Ugly way for the game to end. Looked like a completely inadvertent obstruction. Just flow of the play. May be the correct call, but I don't think so and it is a sad way for Boston to lose. A WS game shouldn't end on such a borderline judgment call. Ruined a terrific game. -- Al

If you look early on after the errant throw, the 3rd basemen while on his stomach lifts both legs as if intent to block, which clips the runner.Made it easier to call an obstruction. Michael

It was a good call. Just an odd way to end it. -- Al

Game 4 is a good pitching duel so far, 1-1 after 5. -- Al
Oops. Spoke too soon. 3-run bomb and it's Sox 4-1, top of 6.

Another bizarro world ending to a world series game.

What a nail biter, not sure I can take three more of these.

So win tomorrow and Wedesday and end this Red Sox.

Loved the shot of Beltran standing there stunned; not sure why he's stunned, it's not like it's the first time he's been left standing at home plate with the bat on his shoulder.

Another great game last night, won by the Sox 4-2. Great bullpen pitching by both sides, especially the Sox pen which yielded only 2 hits and 1 run over 5 innings. You gotta love the pinch-runner who comes in with one job to do, run the bases, and screws it up.:rolleyes2: Down to a 3 games series now. Tonight's game is huge. It's Wainwright against Lester again and this time I think I will go with Lester. Both the starters have pitched well in post-season but Lester just keeps coming up big. Still think this goes 7 games, as I favor Wacha over Lackey in Game 6. I want to see the Game 7 pitching match-up. I originally picked the Cards in 7 but neither team can establish dominance as they are so well matched. Think I am leaning towards the Sox in 7 if Lester comes up big tonight. If Lester wins tonight, Boston needs 1 win at home and I think they get it. If the Cards win tonight, I still think the Cards take it in 7. For my prediction purposes, Game 5 is HUGE.:wink2: -- Al

Dubront was nails last night; the Cardinals do not fair well vs lefties, hoping Lester shuts them down tonight and gives the bullpen a break.

And Michael's favorite Red Sox player David Ortiz is having a monster and I mean MONSTER World Series, a one man wrecking crew.

Must be all those PED's he sprinkles on his corn flakes every morning.

George, Ortiz IS the Sox in this series, so far. His stats are unbelievable. In the 4 games, he has 8 of Boston's 24 total hits, 2 of their 3 Hr's, 2 of their 4 doubles, and 5 of their 18 RBI's. He is batting .727 while the Sox as a team are batting .189. Without Ortiz, the Sox are 16 for 116. Doesn't matter what anyone else has done. Without Ortiz this series is over. He is 'da Man'. His offensive heroics are simply unworldly. If the Sox win this series, it will be because Ortiz has willed them to it. -- Al

I know it,s Boston players "thing", those scraglly a-- beards, but they all look like they were just released from some sort of home for special needs!
And did you notice the Boston starter kept going with his hands to his greased up hair, um! Also I thought he looked a lot like General George Custer of Little Big Horn fame!Whoever wins tonight will win the series.

My wife saw them the other night and said it looks like they stepped out of that show "Duck Dynasty". There is a definite resemblance. Perhaps Schick should consider a sponsorship.{sm3} -- Al

Game 5 underway and already Super O has another hit and RBI. Why is St. Louis continuing to pitch to him? -- Al

Crucial Game 5 to the Sox. Another superlative start from Lester and relief job by Uehara. Cards never really had a shot. Don't know what else to say about Super O except he is MVP, win or lose. Lester and Uehara deserve consideration, but Ortiz is batting .733. No brainer. Congrats to the Sox. Now they can win it at home. -- Al
