Maybe the MFY's should get one of those protective caps for this moron...........

Those caps remind me of the sequence and dialogue in the Movie Major League when Vaughn (Charlie Sheen) gets his glasses:

Eddie Harris: [looking at Vaughn's new glasses] Hey, man, they look nice. I had a pair just like them.

Rick Vaughn: Well, after the game I'm gonna go pick out a pair that's more me.

Eddie Harris: Good luck.

Lou Brown: They look good. Besides, seeing is the most important thing, son.

Willie Mays Hayes: I don't think it's that important.

Rick Vaughn: [looking back into mirror] Bleep.......

Lou Brown: They look good. Besides, seeing is the most important thing, son.

Willie Mays Hayes: I don't think it's that important.

Love that exchange, but this is my favorite one;

"That wouldn't have been out of a lot of parks."

"Name one."

"Yellowstone."

So tonight the Sox got two hits off of Vidal Nuno.

Vidal Nuno, a tomato can who has two pitches, balls and home runs.

RIP 2014 Boston Red Sox; good morning, good afternoon and good night.

Now let's go Giants..................

The Brewers gave up a tying run in the 9th, which in past years would have led to a painful extra innings loss. Instead, they rallied in the bottom of the 9th to win. Now if someone could just beat the Cards a few times we'd be able to open a bit more of a gap...

Ugh, Giants ran into Cueto who was an absolute buzz saw. Have to regroup and hope for better hitting next game.

I did a google search and Vidal Nuno is Venezualan for "Can't break a pane of glass with his fastball".............in 2014, all any walking corpse of a pitcher has to do to get his act together is have a start vs the Red Sox, that will cure whatever ails him.

Take last night for example, this tomato can looked like Cy Young out there.

Awesome.

And it's also great that the stiff lefty the Sox traded for last year with the White Sox got picked up off the scrap heap by the MFY's and was throwing gas in the 9th inning last night; another guy who can't break a pane of glass with his fastball, goes to New York and looks like a hall of famer out there.

Funny how guys who seemingly have nothing left in the tank go to New York and are reborn; must be something in the water....................I'd chalk it up to better growth through chemicals, right Michael; nothing to see here, move along and conduct a witch hunt over Ortiz to deflect the blame away from the MFY's, they're as pure as the driven snow......................

And someone needs to fill me in; what is that mind numbingly annoying "Weweweeeee" @##$ing noise that the PA system pipes in at the toilet whenever a visiting team player strikes out, sounds like a hacky take off from the soundtrack of The good, the bad and the ugly, whoever came up with that one needs to be arrested...............

So tonight I got to hear Buck and Reynolds ballwash Tanaka for eight innings "Brilliant, awesome, spectacular, he's putting on a clinic, what a pitcher, he's something special", then he's got Napoli down 1-2 and shakes off McCann twice and groves a 92 MPH meatball down broadway and we got this;

Forever known as "TANAKA FACE".................Sox win 2-1.

Hey Buck and Reynolds; you can stop carving that Tanaka bust for Cooperstown now...................

Meanwhile the forgotten ace Darvish strikes out 10 in 8 shutout innings. That poor guys biggest crime is that he does not play for the Yankees.

Unreal!!!!!!!! How's about if MLB draws straws for the AL East pennant this year?? Orioles had a golden opportunity to take over first with the Jays struggling but noooooo the last place Rays stomp the Os 3 of 4 but wait everyone else is losing so all good right ? ;(.. Maybe the yanks, O's, Jays just want the Red Sox and Rays to catch up with the pack and we can play rock, paper, scissors at the end of the season...Sammy

At this rate, the division winners record will be 82-80................

Being awful gracious there George, might not even take a winning record...Sammy

George/Sammy:

It could be worse, my Giants started June with a 9 game lead in the West, as of today they are now tied for first with the Dodgers.

I think I'll go back to pulling for the Red Sox..............:wink2:

Speaking of the Dodgers, Kershaw is on a tear. No runs allowed over his last 3 starts, covering 24 innings, and only 4 runs allowed over his last 6 starts, covering 44 innings. He is 6-0 over that stretch. Not a bad June.:rolleyes2: -- Al

Al:

I think it was only a matter of time before the Dodger's staff put it together and started to dominate, Kershaw and Greinke are a powerful 1-2 punch.

Now half-way done, 81 games left for the O's and the Nats and both are still hotly involved in their respective division races and both still within sneezing distance of .500. No one seems to be able to get any momentum. For all the praise I give the Nats starting pitching and all the criticism I have aimed at the O's starters, the two staffs are really quite even, statistically, at this point. Starters for both teams are 30-27. This is a big plus for the O's but a bit of a disappointment for the Nats. IP's and hits allowed aren't all that different. Where the Nats superiority shows up is in general proficiency as the Nats ERA is a full run lower and the Nats strikeout to walk ratio is 3.5 to 1 and the O's ratio is a tic less than 2 to 1. The O's are getting good, if short (5.2 innings per start), work from their staff, while the Nats staff is still a bit under performing and is just managing a tic over 6 innings per start. I think the O's can stay in it to the end with their current staff, barring a fall-off in performance. I also think the Nats can stay in it to the end with their current staff, but they need to pick up the pace some. As mentioned several times by several posters, it looks like the Eastern divisions, in both leagues, is up for grabs to the last day and to the team that can bust 85 or so wins. -- Al

Yes, and it doesn't help that Beckett, Haren, and Ryu all appear to be on their game as well. That is a powerful starting staff. -- Al

Al:

If you have strong middle relief than 5 innings or so from your starters will win you lots of games. The O's seem to have that so I can see them doing well.

And the Nats are about to get Harper back............

Best,
Jason
